ok, thanks ;)

It's the same when Oscar and Eli are running at start and end, the lights are the same, snow too:

Actually, I think it's more like this...

For Oskar to get that kind of angle of view for the taxi he would have to be on the next floor up. I have lined up the drainpipe in the two pictures.

Agreed, but if I remember correctly, Oskar lived on the ground floor. He and Eli jumped from the balcony towards the end of the book. The book, that is.

We discussed that Eli and Oskar used two different entrances to access their respective apartments on here a few years ago.

To fully examine the building that was used, make a virtual visit there via Google Maps:

Wow, it looks almost ... mundane, without all the snow ... and in daylight :(

yeah, even this winter when I'm gone to this area. It's the movie that is magic (and something in our head...) not places.

It does actually look very clean and well maintained ... and sunny :)

There is a distinct lack of litter (something one appreciates when one lives in the UK), and are those bikes chained to the bike racks? It doesn't look like it (the UK is full of petty crime and makes people, or me at least, marvel that others can leave a bike unchained and come back to it in a few hours, and it's still there).

By "mundane" I meant not dark and foreboding, no blanket of snow that is marred by only a few crimson drops... that kind of mundane.
