So I'm infecting a friend of mine..

Post by Jessi » Sat Mar 17, 2012 9:11 pm

She's reading my copy of LTROI and it's just... so funny. I feel you guys should know. xD She fell in love with it but oh my gosh..
her reactions are so funny.. I want to share them :3 (I'm not sure what should be under spoiler so I will just..put spoilers on what I think needs to be. xD)

-----
She referred to Jocke as Jocke-strap and when Eli killed him, she goes "NO, SHE KILLED MY JOCKE-STRAP!"
When Eli came into Oskar'suninvited and began to bleed, her reaction was: Oskar: STOPFREAKINBLEEDING, YOU CAN BE HERE.
This made me laugh so bad: Her: LOL OH MY GOD ELI IS SO FREAKING BLUNT. "*Standing naked in the middle of the living room* Just so you know."
When Oskar touches Eli's cheek: Her: "Eli has butter knife cheeks. Yup. That is hilarious if you've never seen a wooden butter knife. I HAVEN'T BUT I GUESS I CAN IMAGINE A WOODEN SPOON. ....I imagine a wooden butter knife would be very difficult to clean.... thoroughly, I mean."
Another reaction: Her: ..DUDE THIS BOOK MAKES ME WANT TO CRY BECAUSE OSKAR DOESN'T WANT TO SEE ELI AND I'M LIKE "SCREW THAT." "GO BACK TO BLACKEBERG NOW." "SCREW YOUR FATHER."

"LOLDude, Oh my god.
When Oskar told eli that he stood up to Johnny..
Oskar: I beat him.
Eli: Oskar.
Oskar: Yes.
Eli. Yippee."

And the last one:
Her: DAMMIT, I MISS ELI. WHERE'S ELI.
SHE TRIED TO KILL VIRGINIA AND THEN JUST DIAPPEARS.
Me: I ate her.
Her: She's sucking your tummy blood lol.

----

So yes. xD I wasn't sure where to post these but they needed to be shared. Have any of you guys infected friends and got funny reactions? I think this is the best. She's almost as in love with LTROI as I am. (And I suggested her joining here and she said she might! :D)

(By the way I'm planning on creating more LTROI comics, but I don't know.. should I post them in one entire topic in the fan art section? I'm so not used to being on a forum. . _. lol)

My infected 11 yearold niese when seing Oskar taking the buss to his father with a small red indian toy:
"The most boring toy ever, it doesn't do anything" Me - Never thought of it. Kids these days!!

So since she loves LTROI so much, she wanted us to play. I simply laughed because it was so wired. She would just grab me and say:
"Oskar, jag ar ingen flicka!" (Oskar' I'm not a girl) Then.. Try to eat me.

We got to this underpass, she looked at me with a grin, and then run into it. She sat down by the egde of the wall and curled up, then she whispered:
"Help mig." (Help me) After I had tried to play Jocke and tried to carry her, I am not that strong so I failed, her younger siblinst would try to do the same. They sat down beside her and curled up too. Kinda funny.

Last time I saw her, which was a few weeks ago, we were outside on a frozen pond. And we sat in the snow. She then made a heart in the snow, made two handprints inside of it with her hands. Then she looked at me and said:
"Look, Oskar and Eli's hands." So cute, I would have died.

For about a year ago I infected MicaMe, well, I thought I did. She didn't read the book but she loved the movie. And she wanted to go to Blackeberg with me one day. That won't happen, but I thought she was infected. She even made some fan art. I know the feeling, it sure is a blast :)

I've tried to infect others, but have always failed. I've watched the movie with friends and all I ever get is "yeah, that's a pretty good movie." Pretty good movie, really? None of them like to read so loaning the book out to them would be a waste of time. People at work have asked about my "be me a little" tattoo and I've tried to explain to them the greatness that is LTROI but they won't listen either. I think people look at me crazy for having a book quote forever inked into my arm, but they don't understand the infection. Other than the wonderful people on here, I'm basically on my own with my infection... but that kinda makes it more special for me.

I've never been very successful at this. A few people I know at work enjoyed the film and the book, but that's about it.

Me neither. The first failure is the most disappointing. Hope begins to fade after the third or fourth try, then a sense of resignation sets in ...

(But it hasn't stopped me from trying) ;)

I have not infected anyone, but I stumbled upon someone who had read it and liked it a lot; not infected exactly, but we had a long conversation about book vs. movie that was quite interesting. He read it because his girlfriend made him watch the movie, then he got interested, read the book and liked that better (which is even more rare than someone who loves the movie!) And my brother seems interested by the story, I've described both movies and the book to him. I think he would be fine watching the movies but he's only 12 so I am keeping the book away for now.. :? One thing I thought was funny is we were talking about the part where Lacke is about to kill Eli but Oskar finds them. My brother said it would have been more awesome if in the movie they had made Oskar smash Lacke over the head with the Rubik's Cube, instead of waving a knife. I agree :D

Infecting a friend? I am lucky even to have friends, let alone infecting one. I think I know people pretty well, and I think there are not that many people who are going to get infected the way I did, at least not ones I meet face to face.

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

Well my mom was going to read the book but she never did. My niece read the first line of Let The Old Dreams Die and she only read the first line and said "Bah What love is he going to talk about." She prefers Twilight.
