How long will we stay infected?

Re: How long will we stay infected?
Didn`t Eli take a break during summer time?
I mean I understand her. I figured out that all the sun, the BBQ parties, going to the beach, going on vacation with the family and all the other things you do during summer really gets me out of the LTROI mood, so to speak.
But there is hope! The rain, the cold weather, the winter of course and a depression-like state of mind from time to time brings the infection back.
At least it works for me. What LTROI in does for me is showing that there is always a glimpse of hope even during the darkest times in your life.

As I read this, I can feel my fever worsening.Sumsi wrote:But there is hope! The rain, the cold weather, the winter of course and a depression-like state of mind from time to time brings the infection back.
I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

Thats exactly how I feel. During the summer my infection was very faint. But now that the cold air is coming back and it gets darker and Im not drinking beer at BBQ's I have more time to reflect on the story. And I must say....I love itSumsi wrote:Didn`t Eli take a break during summer time?

"Be me a little." My favorite from the book and both movies. Even without the tattoo that line would stay with me forever!Bustedstuff15 wrote:varamiglite wrote:I hope that my infection is never cured. I have a line from the book/film tattooed on my body and I'd hate to someday reflect on it just to realize the same feelings I have right now are gone. I love everything involving LTROI and I cannot imagine it ever dying.[/q
What line do you have tattooed? jusat curious
I am with most of you though. I dont think this will ever go away. Its a lifelong partnership and like most partnerships your interest in it may fade from time to time and but you will always fall back on it and always have that feeling in your chest. I know for me if I go a few days without really feeling my infection I just put on a song from the soundtrack and it sinks my heart again.

I was starting to think it was fading, but then I watched it again the other night, partially to take reference screencaps.
I was wrong.

I´m thinking the same thing.

Re: How long will we stay infected?
I feel like my infection, just like a lot of other things I'm a fan of, comes and goes.
I get long periods of really fangirling over LtROI, perhaps for a couple of months or so. Then it dies off for a while and, while I wouldn't say I forget about it, I don't get myself so involved with it much anymore. Then it suddenly comes back again, usually triggered by some video, fanart or other people bringing it up.
I've just begun another one of those periods now.

Re: How long will we stay infected?
I can relate to Lou-chan, I've succumbed to infections from other things in the past, but I don't think those infections were as powerful and mentality-raping as this one. Problem is, I have merely just become infected; on Halloween night itself! Who knows how long I'll stay infected--maybe I'll stop over the summer....but that's when I go swimming.......
But my infection will be at it's peak over the colder months--I promise you that!

The infection never leaves. It may calm for a period...but it never leaves.
That made me sound all serious and stuff

Hopefully that's true, after the the whole bad language "thread-that-never-ends" really weakened my infection and then the "coup de grace" almost came while watching Lina's "15" teenage Swedish public service short film, it about finished me.
I am slow recovering day by day
