blood pact scene..what would you have done?

during the blood pact scene, owen tells abby he has a surprise and she close her eyes, instead of cutting open your finger, what would you have done instead? i would have just kissed her.. :)

Yeah, I would have just kissed her too. The idea making a blood pact with a girl, you like is completely idiotic.

I have thought of this not so much in terms of the practical nature of it (I have a certain phobia about both blood loss and physical contact) as the significance to the story. What Owen is looking for is some kind of commitment. That is something we are looking for when we love someone. It is the idea of the pact rather than how it is put together. "Will you make this commitment to me?" is what Own is asking for.

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

I agree. It reminded me a little bit of when Dexter gave Lumen that blood slide. Or asking someone to wear a courtship ring. Methinks Owen on some fundamental level understood that someone big was about to happen, something involving commitment of some kind. For two people to mingle their blood feels 'right' someone, at least in terms of that.

Mind you, I myself might have simply wanted a longer kiss. 8-)

It's hard to put oneself back at the age of 12 or 13. Probably would've tried the blood pact and then got down to the kissing. :lol:

Not a blood pact, that's for sure. I'm not freaked out by blood, but it's kind of gross.

It never would've occurred to me to do a bloodpact, at that age or any other.

But I DID have a crush on a girl when I was 12 (more or less), and at the time, what I really wanted to do was take her home to play a nice game of Final Fantasy with me. How that was romantic, I dunno. But it would've taken some kind of impetus to actually kiss her.
