Goofs & Gaffs
After many, many viewings of LTROI, I realized yesterday that the cut in Oskar's left hand that he makes in the basement scene mysteriously disappears later in the film.
There are a few others that I am aware of--Eli wearing Oskar's mother's dress after she solves the Rubik's Cube, and the courtyard scene after Eli has left and Oskar is looking forlornly out the window, in which you can see Eli and Oskar running away in the background when it is supposed to be empty.
Has anyone else noticed anything?

I noticed that 'Eli wearing Oskar's mother's dress after she solves the Rubik's Cube' part too.
Re: Goofs & Gaffs
It's snow everywhere, but when Eli is climping the three after the basement scene, and when she attacs veriginia, there's no snow.
When Oskar visits his dad for the first time in the movie, the patch (for the cut in his cheek) is gone. And after that it appears again.

It's interesting you interpret this as a movie mistake.a_contemplative_life wrote:in which you can see Eli and Oskar running away in the background when it is supposed to be empty.
I noticed this the first time I watched the movie and I always thought they did this on purpose. Like a symbolic scene where Oscar and Eli leave the playground forever or some kind of flashback Oscar has in his mind.
Did someone notice that Oscars lips are pretty clean after the bloody kiss? There is a short cut to Lacke at the ground so you can argue Oscar cleans them in the meantime.

I noticed that one the first time I saw the movie, but let's just say that Oskar wiped off his mouth while we were taking a look at Lacke

I agree with sumsi; even if it´s a goof, it´s a quite good one for it is
a brief picture of two friends forever leaving; last good memories

When Oskar declines to watch TV with his mom, he is busy arranging his hair in the mirror. When he gets outside moments later, his hair is un-arranged.
When Oskar is shown walking home in his gym shorts, further down the parking lot you can see a car that was definitely not around in 1982.
This one is pretty arcane: When Håkan gets caught, Mattias' friends bust the door open with the vaulting horse. From from what you can hear, they bang the horse into the door twice before it flies open, but if you watch the shadow under the door, you can see that they really only ran it into the door once.

...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.
