I can't imagine how the zombie Håkan scene with Eli could staged in such a way that it serves its purpose in the plot without being unbearably uncomfortable to watch. I mean, it was almost too disturbing to read. Whenever I re-read the novel, I have to force myself to keep reading when I get to that part.

And poor Benke. I suppose if zombie Håkan is there, there will be no respite for Benke either. Is he still reading a Martin Beck novel? :)
No novel, I'm afraid. Just death.
The zombie scene was quite short: he attacks Eli, Oskar comes in and sceams, and I think Eli kills Håkan (they'd changed that a bit). I got a feeling that the actors were almost hesitant about it (perhaps due to the fact that we were not seeing the "real" Håkan) and it wasn't all that scary.

This looks amazing, and a tribute to just what you can do with live theatre--with suggestion and stylization that are both so very difficult to pull off in such a "literal" media as film.

This is awesome. Really, what else should I say, if everyone mentioned all the important things? Well I can only tell you, thanks for review.

A different movie interview ;) (still only in swedish)
Thanks for posting the link. It gives a much better idea of how the play looked and how the experience must have been.

Nice link! You always find the good stuff! :D

Is this a review? It's from a Swedish newspaper and my Google translate is not working for some reason.

"Can we die?" "Of course we can." Eli put his hand on his heart, felt the slow beats. Maybe it was because he was a child. Maybe that was why he hadn't put an end to it. The pangs of conscience were weaker than his will to live.

Thank you, Miss editrice, for the review; it was long, thoughtful, and quite descriptive. You're very kind to have taken the time and put so much into this for us here at "We, The Infected." You could have just given a thumb-nail sketch of the play, a few opinions, and that's all. And we would have been happy with that. But you went the extra mile, and for no other reason than you wanted to. Once again -- as they say in my neck of the woods -- you done us a solid. Your indulgence is appreciated by Team Eli (as you can tell, I'm sure).

One more review from Svenska Dagbladet (In Swedish)
