One More Month

Hey everyone!

Who here's going to get the DVD on Feb. 1st and what scenes do you plan on watching first? I plan on watching the commentary first, then I'm going to watch the deleted scenes. After that's over, on to the movie!

Still debating getting this or not. If I do, the first thing I will have to do is watch it all the way through. It wasn't around long enough for me to see it more than once, sadly.

I'm definitely getting the Blu Ray. I wrote a rather scathing assessment of LMI as compared to LTROI in another thread and might end up retracting some statements. Mind you this was after only one viewing compared to the countless times I've seen LTROI which is hardly fair. I've seen people outright trash this film without even seeing it. Like them, I think I was already in a decidedly biased mindset when I watched it. However since then I've found some insightful and intelligent arguments and reviews in favor of LMI. Take a look sometime at Rotten Tomatoes or Amazon which hundreds of reviewers gave it a high rating, there must be some reason for that. Of course one can't help but compare the two films. To make sure, LTROI *is* a masterpiece. But if you take LMI for what it is, an entirely different animal altogether, and keep an open mind you might find it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.

I intend to get the DVD and just watch the whole thing again. I was only able to see it once, whereas, like jonjon_z, I have seen LTROI many, many times. I was unhappy with LMI for several reasons, but I wonder what my reaction might have been if I'd never seen LTROI first. Could be, it would have been more favorable.

I'll definitely have it soon after release. Like many here, I let my love of LTROI effect my experience watching LMI. I am certain that if I had not seen LTROI first, I would have had a more favorable experience with LMI. This time, I'll watch it as I should have the first time. As a separate story.
Of course the deleted scenes and commentary are high on my list of things to look forward to on the disc.

I am pretty sure I would have liked it, say, like Unbreakable or 6th Sense. Problem is that I doubt it had moved me to read the book (to this day I don't know if Unbreakable or 6th Sense are based on books), so I had probably missed JAL's authorship if I had watched LMI and not LTROI.

I think I would have liked LMI better too had I not seen LtROI. I'm not buying the DVD, mainly b/c I don't buy DVDs (I made an exception for LtROI of course) but I wouldn't mind watching it again when it comes on TV in a few years.

I want to see how they did the car crash too. That car crash sequence reminded me a bit like the movie Strange Days where a guy takes a fall down the ground from the building at the beginning of the film.
