Just curious but----

Re: Just curious but----
I don't know if they are available on dvd yet (it doesn't concern me
). If they are, then yes.

Well, that's also because of recentism. Back in August I wrote a piece about Only Clouds Move the Stars, which has received more awards than any other Norwegian film. A lot of praise were heaped on the two 11-12-year old leads back then. However, neither of the two ever played a significant role again.drakkar wrote:Now, a year and a half old, it has become the reference: "Why can't Norway make decent films with child actors? Look how it can be done - look at LdRKI!"
Re: Just curious but----
LTROI might easily share that fate, if not for its (nontleless disputable) merits on behalf of the worn down vampire genre. So, for once contradicting my life motto (the upper quote in my sig), I somehow need to be grateful for the slightly out-off-kilter appreciation our "pathogen" is met with by a lot of critics.

For those who understand Norwegian
: Just found one of the animation clips about LdRKI (the book) shown in Norwegian television.
The animation is made prior to the film release, and it is interesting for once to wiew Oskar and Eli like they are decribed in the book. Quite different from Kåre and Lina actually.

Hehe, I actually knew those clips from the annual International Festival of Animated Film here in Stuttgart where I'm studying.

Again! When did you see it ? I noticed it on TV last October I think, but it must be made early in 2008.

It was a matinée on animated TV spots, which was part of last year's ITFS.

Norway did. Actually a short film. Benny's Gym. Check my thread on short films. It is on Youtube in 3 parts. I like the child actors in Benny's Gym.drakkar wrote:And there it was again, popping up in media.

And it works. Last week, nearly a year after the dvd release, LdRKI claimed 4th place on the dvd board. After District 9 and two TV-series.
A slow acting poison indeed.
Låt den rätte komma in in both its printed and celluloid form is a slow acting poison. You will be poisoned white. White from arsenic and innocence.

Neat to see a different depiction of the characters. I don't think Mona B. Riise did the best job narrating, it was a bit staccato. I didn't realize it was her until the end (she is a former radio host).drakkar wrote:For those who understand Norwegian: Just found one of the animation clips about LdRKI (the book) shown in Norwegian television.

Nyaaaah, that was funny. Eli looked like the great L Lawliet.
