JAL speaks about Lilla Stjärna

Post by drakkar » Tue Feb 02, 2010 12:58 pm

John speaks about Lilla Stjärna on Youtube! His videos are getting more and more elaborated :D
Is it his wife coming sneaking up from behind?

I know this is a problem.
My guess is that John and Mia (his wife) made this video themselves, and posted it on youtube some days ago. He is, as usual, funny, and quite difficult to translate. With "Lilla Stjärna" he is heading for the dance music stage, which is sacred to the Swedes :D
The last thing he does before killed with that drill is to apologize.

He is saying much of the same as in the prologue, which was first posted on here 8-), and kindly translated by StefL.
So now it should be as wrapped up as it can be at the moment...

Edit: Added StefL's translation of the prologue :D and loads of misspellings.....

D@mn, that was funny. :D

OK, actually there was like 6 words I understood from the whole thing, but man. For obvious reasons I don't want write on this forum like some crazed John-fanboy, but I can't help it: I friggin' love what this guy does. :ugeek:
And we danced, on the brink of an unknown future, to an echo from a vanished past.

The forum house translator strikes again:

Hi…
I’m John Ajvide Lindqvist. Now I’ve written a book again. It’s called Lilla Stjärna, and just like many of my stories it’s about when people meet ‘the other’. This time, ‘the other’ comes in the shape of a girl who already as a little baby can sing in perfectly pure tones – sinus tones.
This girl grows up in a basement, and gets a very special view of the world. She becomes more and more convinced that within peoples’ heads, there is something that can be let out and be captured, and help a little star live.
I don’t know, perhaps I shouldn’t make up, let these pictures out in the world. In the worst case they will eventually become real and want to meet their maker. (1.34 here, the figure in the background is getting closer)
But, before it all ends I just want to say that I really do like Allsång På Skansen a lot – I really do. Forgive me

NOTES: Once again, JAL mentions Allsång På Skansen, a popular TV program which is broadcast live on summer Tuesday evenings from Skansen in Stockholm. The title translates to Singalong at Skansen.
A funny detail in the film is the figure next to JAL, it's a 'GB-gubbe', iconic ad detail for Swedish main Icecream makers GB. In summer you'll see one outside every shop that sells icecream cones.

I almost forgot - the figure in the snow with Christmas lights on is "GB-gubben", an ice cream advertisement, which stars big time in "Människohamn - Human Harbour"

Edit: StefL beat me with one minute :)

The masked person seems to be rather short considering that JAL is kneeling. So my guess is it's not his wife, but rather someone who's intended to resemble a character from Lilla Stjärna.
