Ironically they will probably cast two actors the same age as Lina and Kare, but they will probably Americanize it. Even worse they might even Twilightize it. My worse dreams come to pass. The negative thing about the play demonstrated that the story could be told with older actors playing Oskar and Eli, even though they were still playing the actors the same age as the original movie and the novel.

Yeah, they're not going to be spending a year on casting calls to find a Kåre and Lina.abner_mohl wrote:Ironically they will probably cast two actors the same age as Lina and Kare, but they will probably Americanize it. It would really stink up the joint if they got Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloe Grace Moretz. I mean, nothing bad about them, but it would be a double insult: They are not 12. They already collaborated on screwing up the remake. Make it a triple insult: Kodi isn't Oskar by a mile; Chloë isn't Eli.
Oh, God, what if they get the kids who did the English language dub? Shriek!

I just read about this on IGN and fired off in their comments section. I can't even... just, no. Why the hell would they do this? I'd like it to be a joke, but I know it isn't. ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!
slog tillbaka. hårt.
Re: A&E Remaking 'Let the Right One In'
Well heck. My initial disbelief not withstanding, here's what Wikipedia has to say about it:
"In March 2015 A&E Studios confirmed the television series adaption of the novel.[16] The series will run in late 2015 on A&E and was written by Jeff Davis and Brandon Boyce.[17]"
I guess denial really isn't a river in Africa.
Well, beyond college football (and LTROI on Netflix), I'm not a TV guy. I don't even know if I get A&E. Doesn't matter. Unless the BGH's on WTI say it's fantastic beyond belief, best thing since sliced bread, comes with complimentary cherry Kool-Aid, then I probably never will know that it is on or where or when.
Fine.

I wonder what inside info JAL has on this latest development. I guess it's a testament to the timelessness of the central story. Hopefully A&E will stay focused on the love story, and not cheapen it into a vampire finding her replacement helper.

Okay, I just read the THR article again, and noticed the following,
"The drama follows the boy and female vampire, who lives in secrecy with her mysterious guardian. When a series of strange murders pops up in their small Vermont town, it attracts the attention of a federal marshal with a mysterious past of his own."
So, this time the story takes place in Vermont instead of New Mexico, thank god, it's still in USA,
and we have a federal marshal, I'm guessing that would be the policeman played by Elias Koteas in "Let Me In".

This makes me think that JAL has not been involved in this at all. He once complained that he had allowed too much rights when he signed the papers for LMI. Specifically, it included the rights to make a comic out of LMI, which JAL was not happy about, but could not stop. I wonder if this is another outcome of that unfortunate contract? The property was optioned from Hammer Films Productions, which produced the 2010 English-language film adaptation Let Me In.
But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist

I hope the title sequence of the TV series can be as beautiful as this one,
