So I went to purchase my ticket with my allowance. I chose at random some place. Now I had to wait. So I headed outside and then I saw a girl pulling a trunk. I went up to her and asked her if she needed help. I guess I was not the only one running away tonight.
"Hey there! Do you need help? "
The girl stop and smiled but then her smiled faded.
She continue to walk with her trunk. Then she stopped.
She sat down on the trunk.
She sat there saying nothing. She looked like a statue.
Was she waiting for someone?
She was prepared. I had brought nothing. This idea of running away was not looking good. If I returned I was not going to try again. Worst this gave her reason that everything I did was wrong. I was standing by the light post. The girl kept sitting on top of the trunk. She kept looking everywhere until her eyes came to me. As if she wanted me to leave. She kept staring at me. This was becoming .... Then
Tap, tap, tap. Someone was tapping from inside the trunk.
Tap tap tap. It sounded familiar.
The girl ignore the tapping.
Tap, tap, tap. Again. Yeah. Like the Morse code paper I found. One day while I was playing by the school trash can I found the paper. I was playing treasure hunt. At home I practice and practice until I had learn it but there was no one to play with.
So I pointed to the trunk and tap to her:
AREN'T YOU GOING TO ANSWER?
Tap, tap tap. It was three letters. E l i. Eli. That must be her name. She kept looking to the trunk and then to me. Finally she answer rapidly with several taps. I paid attention.
O.S.K.A.R. P.L.E.A.S.E.
Oskar? That kid that vanish from the school. He was here! I approach cautiously to the trunk. I could not resist! This was a big event, to meet someone who had vanish! I was curious and before she saw me I tapped.
N.I.C.E. .T.O. .M.E.E.T. Y.O.U.
So here I was with Oskar! That kid who had vanish from the massacre at the school. He was like the magician on t.v. who did cool tricks. The girl had her arms crossed. She was angry. But this was once in a lifetime chance. So I lay down by the trunk and kept tapping away.

Yeah. She is seating on the trunk.

I kept tapping, tapping, tapping until I felt Eli close to me.
She pointed to me and signal for me to move. I was frighten by her glowing eyes. I stood up and slowly slowly moved away. She then begin to tap and tap. I tried to listen to what she tapped.

All I was planning was running away. That is why I was by the train station. Now I was involve in some feud between two friends. Friends. I guess they are probably dating. They are running away together. I was starting to get hungry so hungry. So as she was still tapping away I begin to slowly move. Then when I return I will explain to her.
I had some money left. I walk until I found a hot dog stand. I order three. Then the three of us could talk and problem solved!
And besides no one could turn down a delicious hot dog!
Click Click The opening of a trunk. Then some running. Sounds of someone flying. Oskar gets out. Eli is not there. He closes the trunk and sits down. He looks sad and waits for her to return.
I ran and ran. As I came closer. Ah No! Eli was gone. Sitting on the trunk was Oskar. He saw me. Then he continue to look at the ground. For a while there was silence. What could I say?
I offer him one of the hot dogs. He took one but barely ate it. I sat on the trunk too. So I ate in this quietness. They had fought because of my presence. I should have left.
But the hot dog was so delicious that I forgot about this affair. So playfully I push him with my arm.
"This is the best hot dog!"
He smile a little and bit the hot dog.
"Come on you got to give it a huge bite. Like this."
I did.
Then he did to.
This was fun!
"So she does not like hot dogs?" Ah well. So I split it in half and gave him the other piece.
"She is angry but I know she will be back."
"She probably just went for a walk. Or else she is spying on us he he."
Then I stood up and saw a knife on the snow by the trunk. It must have fallen. I pick it up and got some snow. I made a snow ball. A knife. Maybe they were planning to do some sort of pact. Just like those two cousins I sometimes saw. They had wanted to use a needle but could not find one. Then they found a knife and made a mess of the kitchen with their blood. It took a lot of paper to clean it up. So I said playfully.
"Hey want to make a pact?" And I threw the snow ball. In my rush I did not see were it landed. No. It landed on Eli's head. Now she looked really scary.
She wiped the snow from her face. And threw a paper bag that she had to the ground. I put the knife on top of the trunk. Eli was closing her eyes and had her hands to the side. She was shaking and trembling. She look tense. Sort of like she was trying not to lose control. Then she ran and vanish. Oskar tried to go after her.
I sat on the trunk by the train station. They both did not return. Then I heard the announcement. The train that I was taking was going to leave in 30 minutes. I went to the waiting area when I heard someone arguing. Then a train pass by and all I could barely hear was:
"Yes this is all about hotdogs!"
It sounded like her voice. I try to follow were it had come from but I did not find her. I return and when to the waiting area. There was not much to do except wait.
Then I got into the train and gave my ticket.
"Are you traveling alone?"
"Yes but my dad is meeting me when I arrived at my stop."
What was it with grown ups and their questions. I bet he would not ask any adult anything. Just got their tickets and he would let them continue.
So I found a solitary compartment and lay down to sleep. I sat by the last seat. I was tired. No one was going to see me.
As I was driting to sleep this laughter woke me up. I was irritated. Now my sleep was gone. But they continued to laugh. Ah so I scream at them.
"Keep it quiet. I am trying to sleep!"
Just my luck. It was them. They were not laughing. Now I did want to be somewhere else.
I hid and decided to go back to sleep. Now they were fighting again.
"I don't believe you Oskar. You do know her!"
I kept my eyes close.
"Eli don't start again!"
"Then how did she get here."
"Ask her yourself."
I heard the sounds of foot steps coming my way. Great now I was going to get kill. Or lucky just get beaten.
I who had plan to run away. Now was involved in a love story. But I kept my eyes closed. The footsteps stop.
"So do you know Oskar?"
"Do you?"
I kept my eyes close. Then a light poke. And some soft shaking of my body. It felt like she was tickling me. I almost laugh.
"I know you are awake."
I kept my eyes close.
"So that is how is going to be eh?"
So Eli kept at it.
"Eli you are going to hurt Lucy."
"So now you are worry about her."
"No I am not. Is just.."
"Lucy Lucy Lucy..."
I open my eyes and they were arguing again. They sure like to fight a lot. Then I saw the door to the other compartment. This was my perfect plan to escape.
Before I open the door Eli was dashing towards me.
"Hey you!"
I manage to escape. Now I was running from door to door. Every room was empty. Didn't anyone travel at night? The slamming of doors. They were close. I got under one of the seats. I crawl and crawl into I reach a corner. I was so exhausted. No more footsteps. So I got out and sat on the seat. Then no. Oskar was there. He was facing the other way until the waiter came and poke his arm.
"She is here."
He turned around and his smile turn into a frown. He sat down.
"I'll be back in a bit to take your order."
I kept my eyes at the table. Then I open the menu. Soups, desserts, appetizers, different types of foods. The waiter came to ask for the order. What could I do? A free meal is a free meal.
"I'll have the lasagna and a pepsi."
"And the young getleman?"
"Whatever. The same." He said irritate.
The waiter left. Silence. I wanted to apologize but it would probably make things worst. Oskar look uncertain as if he was about to get up. Then he decided to remain still. Then the waiter came with the food. It smell good. So I dug in wth the fork. As I was enjoying the meal I had forgotten about him. Then as I look at Oskar his face suddenly turn white. As if he had seen a ghost. Then that voice. Suddenly I wish I was back at home.
"Oskar I brought the money. Sorry for..."
"Am I interrupting your date?"
I kept looking at the plate.
"No, Eli..." I heard the sound of a chair.
"You invite her to dinner and"
"Eli please.."
" all you offer me"
"..."
" for our first date"
"Eli.."
"was a piece of candy."
A candy. No wonder she was mad. Oskar was lucky that Eli was still with him. I could not contain myself so I said:
"Really? Oskar you are cheap."
"I am not cheap."
"But he is you know."
Oskar was suddenly quiet.
"Really?"
"He gave me a Rubik's cube as a present that he stole from the toy store."
"Wow!"
"He even bought stolen things from a boy he knew because they were less expensive."
Eli was right. And she was the one paying for the meal I had eaten.
"Are you two done talking about me."
"Because I am not the only one who is cheap."
"Oskar ..."
Here they started to argue again. This lasagna was really good so as I continue eating they continue with their scene.
"Who steals people's things jewelry, clothes, blankets, even their money!"
"We've talked about this before. They gave me their money!"
Eli slam the table and my lasagna almost fell. There were three people watching now great. A perfect chance to escape. I motion to the waiter. Then as he was coming I got up from the chair.
"Hey!"
"Here is your receipt."
I ran to the first door I saw.
The door led to the kitchen. Eli was right behind me. I hid under one of the counters.
"You cannot be in the kitchen." It was one of the cooks talking.
"Eli let's go."
"She came here. Let me go!"
I took a peek and Oskar and two waiters were pulling Eli out of the kitchen.
I was saved. The kitchen smelled nice. I was getting hungry again. So I grabbed a piece of bread with butter for later.
I then got out and saw that Eli was struggling to escape. A third waiter had to come and help. I went to the next compartment. As the door was closing I heard Eli's voice.
"Let me go!"
I was not safe in the train. Eli was looking for me. Then I heard the announcement:
"It is 10:00 p.m. Two more hours to reach our destination."
The only way to safety was to throw myself out of the train. I decided to go outside to the end of the train were there was a balcony. I wish I had brought some other sweater since it would probably be more cold outside. As I was getting closer to the end of the train I saw a red sweater, a hat with and some gloves laying on a chair. There was even an old stuffed bunny. No one was around. I would borrow them and the I would return them. So I put them on. They had a weird smell. Just so the bunny would not feel alone I took him to.
I reach the end and went outside. I stood by the rail. I like the sound of the wind. It was a dark night and not even the moon was shinning. I could barely see my hand. In one night I kept stumbling into those two. It had been fun at first but now I wish and hoped I would not find them. I ate the piece of bread. Then suddenly someone grab my hand.
"I knew you would be here."
No, no. That voice. It was Oskar.
"I even brought your bunny."
I try to pull my hand away. But he would not let go. This was going to end bad.
The bread I was
chocking.
"Eli.."
He only kept talking. Then someone came in.
"You are the only one"
Help me. No, please don't let it be her.
"I want to be with."
Then I finally pulled away and spit out the bread.
"What did you say?"
But it was. It was Eli.
"Bravo bravo!" Eli was applauding.
"Eli then who..."
"You should know Oskar since she..."
"No.."
"is the oneyouwanttobewith." Eli said imitating his voice.
"Eli you don't understand."
"What? That know you are giving her my things to."
Then she went near me. Now I could see her eyes glowing red. If last time she had been angry now she look worst.
"What do you have to say?"
A chance to explain. Nothing that I could say was going to make things worst.
I was wrong. She would not let me finish talking.
"Well."
"He likes ..."
"You. I heard that. What about the clothes?"
"I found..."
"him and he gave them to you. Nothing new."
I was getting irritated.
"Let me finish!"
"Why? I know you will only lie."
Then Oskar said angrily.
I am going to tell the truth!"
"What is it then? What?"
Then he lost his temper and manage to ruin things even more.
"That I like Lucy! And she told me to meet her by the train station!"
"So it was true!"
"Yeah and then I told her I was going to be waiting inside of a trunk!"
"I knew it!"
"Sure sure you know everything."
"Of course I do!"
"Yes Eli I like her. I like her so much that I forgot I was coming with you."
I manage to escape once more. Hearing them fight was going to give me a headache.
What a night. I took out the gloves, the sweater, and the hat and put them were I found it. And I lay the bunny on top of the clothes.
"Oskar, Oskar," I kept mumbling his name. That name that had only brought me bad luck.
"Oskar..."
"Hey how do you know my name?"
Not again.
As he approach closer it was not him. It was a boy with dark hair.
"My name is Oscar."
"Oskar?"
"No, Oscar with a 'c'"
"Oh." I was relieved.
"What's your name?"
"Is Lucy."
"Finally I thought I was the only kid here."
"Hmm."
"Want to play?"
"Sure." After all that running around playing sounded safe.
"So who are you traveling with?"
"By myself. My dad is going to be waiting for me at the train stop."
"I traveling with my mom."
"Cool."
"Did you hear about the big commotion?"
"No, what happened?"
"Someone was making a scandal at the kitchen and three waiters had to come to take that person out."
"Oh." I knew who he was talking about. But I was not going to tell no one.
"So what do you want to play?"
"How about some tick-tack-toe?"
"Sure."
So then we sat down and he took out some paper and two pecils.
"I'll be O."
"ok. I am X."
We play for a bit. L: 3 wins, 5 loses, O:5 wins, 3 loses.
"Ah ha. O wins again."
"I'll get you next time."
"I am going to get something to drink."
"Ok."
"Want anything?"
"An apple juice."
He left. Then someone was coming.
"Hey, that was fast Oscar. Thanks for.."
"Oskar.."
No it was her.
Eli... Great.
"Eli let me explain please."
"What?"
Then she sat down.
"I was not with Oskar."
"Then what does this mean eh?"
She pointed to the paper.
"I was with Oscar."
"See you admitted it."
"Is not my fault he has the same name!"
"Seems I interrupted your tick-tack-toe game!"
"Eli..."
How could this get more complicated? Then it did Oskar was coming happily towards were Eli and I were.
"Eli I have been looking everywhere for...."
Then he saw me. I saw another fight coming soon.
Where was Oscar?
"I am sorry for getting in your way!"
"Now what did I do?"
"Like you don't know!"
"This is what I get for trying to find you!"
"Please you were playing tick-tack-toe with her!"
She then shoved the paper to his face.
"This proofs nothing!"
"She admitted it herself. Ask her. Ask her."
He then looked at me.
"Well, talk."
Maybe Oskar would listen and believe my story.
"He has the same name as me."
"Yes except his name is Oscar with a 'c.'"
He rolled his eyes.
"And where is this Oscar?"
"He went to get something to drink."
"Sure. Lucy why do want to get me in trouble with Eli?"
"I don't. I am telling the truth."
"Yeah sure."
This was going nowhere. Then the fighting continue.
"Just admit it already Oskar! You know her!
"No I don't! Why won't you listen Eli!"
They were driving me crazy. So I screamed at them.
"You two should get married already! All you do is fight!"
I then push Oskar out of the way and ran from this madness.
I finally sat down by an empty compartment. Oskar, Eli, that other Oscar. I heard the train conductor announce.
"One hour until we reach the nearest station."
One hour and I was going to be free from them. One more hour. My feets were aching. I had been running for too long. Maybe, probably, I even hoped, that for this hour they would not find them.
As always it was not to be. Is like I was a magnet that got stuck to them.
All I was doing was resting. I had grabbed a brown jacket that was there and used it as a pillow and cover myself with a blue blanket that was there. All I was doing was borrowing them. Sure they smelled like dust but I was tired. A nap. A one hour nap. One hour. I was going to that wonderful sleep. Then as I was drifting to sleep I heard a voice.
"Eli ..."
Please let this be a nightmare but it was not. Again I was using their stuff. What was it with them leaving their things without putting them away. I cover myself even more as he continue to talk. What else what else was going to happen?
"Eli please don't be mad at me."
I kept silent. I was too tired to even give a response. Then he got something out.
"See I brought you flowers. I bought them myself. To show you that I am not cheap."
Couldn't he just leave. Why did he keep talking?
"Please Eli...."
Then I felt him tickling my back and saying:
"How many fingers?"
And at that moment a door was slammed. I did not have to guess who it was. I imagine her already as I close my eyes. I did not want to know. But it was Eli. Eli again.
"Am I interrupting your date again?"
"Then who ..."
"Like if you don't know!"
"Eli please. I thought it was you!"
"Sure sure. Let's see who it is."
I held on to the blanket. Eli kept tugging at it. The more she pulled the more I held the blanket back.
"Eli don't pull to hard. You might hurt.."
"Lucy, Lucy, Lucy... Is always about her you think about!"
Then she stopped and let go of the blanket.
"What's this? What's this? Is it for Lucy too?"
"You bought her flowers,"
"Eli they are for you..."
"you invite her to dinner,"
"Eli don't..."
"you play our games,"
"I did not..."
"And even what's this?"
She pulled out a card that was in the flowers.
"Ahh"
"Even wrote her a love note!"

Sometimes I thought that they were doing this just to amuse themselves.
"I know it will probably offend you if I read it."
"No give it back. Is not finish yet."
Oskar tried to take the card away. Eli was just too fast.
Then she pulled the blanket off me.
"Hi you guys."
"Lucy here will read it."
"Me?"
"Yes you!"
And she held the card infront of me. I had no choice. I had to read what was written on the card.
"To the one I love in the whole world, in the universe, in the stars, in the whole world the whole world the whole world...."
"Keep reading!"

"Are you joking?"
"That is what it says."
"Let me see." Eli read the card.
"I told you it was not ready."
"I wrote you notes and you"
"Not again..."
"write her poetry..."
"The card was.."
"you never wrote one note to me..."
Wow! I would even be mad if my boyfriend never wrote me a letter.
"Oskar how could you do that to Eli!"
"I wrote you the Morse code!"
"That you gave to her too."
"Not even one note Oskar?"
"I stayed after school!"
"I stayed up all night!"
"You should have told me then!"
"You are suppose to know!"
Then Oskar got out a notebook and a pencil.
"Here. Here. How many notes do you want?"
"Why don't you finish the poem that you started for her!"
As they continue to fight I pulled the door slowly and manage to escape.
My plan had been to run away and not to get involve in this love triangle. What a ride in the train. The train was almost going to arrive at the next station. From there I had no plan. I felt the few coins in my pockets. I was going to the next compartment when suddenly the train came to a stop. I stumble forward and I manage to hold on to someone's hand so I would not fall.
"Thank ...."
It was Oskar. I was holding his hand. Then that familiar voice.
"Now your holding her hand!"
"Is not like that!"
"And you!"
I let go of his hand.
"How is it then?"
"She was going to fall down."
"You expect me to believe that!"
I started to move towards the door but Eli saw me.
"You are not going to get away!"
So I started to run. To run for my life!
I ran from door to door. Eli was almost going to catch up to me when I saw one of the window's open. I got through it and jump the train. I heard her shout:
"I will find you Lucy! Then you will see!"
That I did not want to see. The way she said it. She was going to tear me to pieces if she found me.
Then another message:
"Sorry for the delay. We are having some mechanical trouble."
Great. Now the train was not working. This was not my night.
People were getting off the train. There were a few stores around and a park. I was taking off the dirt from my clothes when I heard another voice. It was Oscar!
"Hey Lucy. Where were you?"
"Hi Oscar. Sorry for leaving but I had to go somewhere."
"That's ok. I am going to eat with my mom."
"Want to play later?"
"Sure. We are going to be here a while."
"There some swings by the park. Let's meet there."
"Ok. See you later!"
Oscar was happy to see me unlike those other two.
I went to the candy store.
"I'll have some gummy bananas."
"Anything else?"
"And some gummy bears."
I save the gummy bananas for Oscar. I sat down by one of the benches and ate my gummy bears. So far no Eli and Oskar in sight.
After finishing my gummy bears I decided to go to the park and wait for Oscar. As I was getting closer I saw someone by the swings. It was probably him. He was up in the air and when I saw he made a flip and landed on the ground. I ran up to meet him.
"Cool trick Oscar! You came early. Here I"
Then when I saw it was not Oscar but Oskar.
And someone was coming. I did not have to guess who it was.
"So is this why you wanted us to meet here."
"No, Eli.."
"That's why you left me this note!"
Eli wave a piece of paper she had in her hand.
"I did not!"
"Let's have her read the note!"
She put the paper infront of me. Here I went again. I had no choice.
"Read it!"
"Ok." I began.
"Dear Eli, Please meet me by the swings. When you get here everything will become clear."
"Yes everything is clear now."
"There you go again!"
"What am I suppose to think?"
"I see you performing your trick for her!"
"I was not!"
"And look she even brought you something!"
She saw the candy bag. I was trying to hide it.
"Well go ahead give it to him."
She snatched the candy bag.
"There not for him. They are for Oscar!"
"Oh look she brought you gummy bananas!"
"Well at least..."
"what?"
"She remembers I have to eat too!"
"Then here here have your bananas!"
"I will. I will. See how much I like them!"
And he ate them all in one bite. He ate the gummy bananas that I had bought for Oscar.
"And you! This time you won't get away!"
And so again I begin running for my life.
So I ran up to the slide and begin climbing but Eli was at the end.
"I don't like Oskar."
"He is not my type!"
Then Oskar said surprisingly.
"I am not your type!"
This only got Eli angrier.
"So you do care after ..."
"Eli I did not...."
"all what she thinks of you!"
Why did he have to utter those words. Now I was in more trouble.
"What is your type then?"
"Someone who comes to my rescue!"
I ran up to the monkey bars and Eli was right behind me.
"This time you are not getting away!"
I was holding on to the monkey bars. I was half-way but my arms were in pain. Then I saw a bridge. If I could use my arms to swing there I would be safe from Eli. So I swung and swung I let go but I did not land on the bridge but instead it was Oskar who I landed on. It looked bad. Like if he was carrying me. Of course Eli saw everything.
"So now is he your type since he came to save you!"
"Sure. Sure he is my type."
"I knew it!"
"Sure see see!" I was angry. And so I kiss Oskar on the cheek. Oskar's face turn red.
"What are you going to do now eh?"
"I am going to kill you!"
"Eli calm down!"
"No Oskar. I am not going to let Lucy win. You hear Oskar is mine!"
"Come on then! Come and get me!"
She came chasing after me.
So the chase continue.
So off I went. I ran by the stores. Then I saw a ladder by the train and climb it. I was on top of the train. Eli was behind me.
"You won't get away!"
I ran and ran and then I saw a window open and got through. A boy with brown hair was there!
"Please hide me." I beg him.
He motion me to get on a trunk that was next to him. I did. Though the trunk look sort of familiar. I waited in silence hoping she would not discover me.
I heard voices.
"Did you see a girl come through here?"
"Yes. She went through that door."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"I've got her now!"
Then a door was open. I was waiting until the trunk was open.
"Thank you."
"What did you do to her?"
"Nothing." I sat down.
"Thank you again..."
"My name is Owen."
"I am Lucy. Nice to meet you Owen."
"Are you travelling alone Owen?"
"I am with my friend. Her name is Abby."
"I better leave then."
"Stay. Abby won't mind."
"Are you sure?"
"Ok."
Finally some good news. Hearing Owen talking about Abby reassure me that nothing bad was going to happen. So I relax and rested for a bit.
"So what's her name?"
"Eli."
"What did you do?"
"She thinks I want to steal her boyfriend." I roll my eyes.
"Well your safe here."
"Thanks."
"Abby won't be back in a while. Want to play rock, paper, scissors?
"Yes."
This was fun. No running and no arguing. I was enjoying my game with Owen when suddenly Oskar barged in through the window.
"Not you again!"
"Think I want to see you again!"
"I think you do. You keep following me around!"
"Please Oskar! Why would I do that?"
"To get me in trouble with Eli!"
He was the one coming after me. Owen intervene.
"Relax guys. I am sure if you talk..."
"Believe me Owen I have tried that .."
"So have I but well..
"Is Eli... that won't listen."
"Eli... won't listen." We said at the same time.
Finally we agree on something.
"Why not give her a present?" Owen suggested.
"I am sure Oskar has something already?"
"I ... well..." Oskar put his hands on his pockets.
"You do have something then! What is it?" I began to tickle Oskar.
"I found it!" It was a small red box.
"Give it back!"
"Oskar let Lucy see it. She can tell us if Eli might like the present."
"Owen is right Oskar."
"Ok."
I open the small box.
"Wow! Eli is going to love this!"
"You think so!"
"Yeah! This will make her happy!"
"Is a nice way to show her that you care."
"Can I try it on?" I pleaded.
"Go ahead!"
I opened the box and it had two rings that matched. The pattern was different circles with different colors. It was pretty. I had heard about these types of rings. They were friendship rings.
"Here try yours too!" Oskar put his ring.
"They match!"
"They look cute!"
Then we begin to play rock, paper, scissors again. We were having so much fun that we did not notice who had been watching us for a while.
"Abby that's her! The boyfriend thief!"
Great. This was great.
"Is not true Abby." Owen said.
"See now she is after Owen."
"Owen said that Abby and him are just friends."
"Really Owen? We are just friends!"
"Abby let me explain..."
"No wonder you wanted me to leave!"
Not another one. I had bad luck.
"And I am not a boyfriend thief!"
Then Eli saw my hand. The ring! I had forgotten to take it off!
"Who gave you that ring?"
Oskar put his hands in his pockets.
"Was it you Owen!"
"No!"
"Then.."
Eli kept looking at Oskar and pulled out his hands.
"Ha Ha! Explain that!"
"The ring is for you!"
"Yeah sure!"
"Lucy was just trying it on!"
"Lucy Lucy Lucy! There you go again!"
"Is true! Oskar is right." Owen said.
"See Abby she now has Owen under her spell!"
"I see! I see!"
How was I going to escape from this situation.
"I am not!"
"Eli.."
"Abby.."
"I see things clearly now Oskar!"
"Eli don't start..."
"The dinner, the flowers, the poem and..."
"They were all for you Eli.."
"And the ring! It all makes sense!"
"The ring was for you!"
"She is your new girlfriend!"
"I am not!"
"And now she is after Owen!"
"Abby please!"
"Then why did you tell her we were only friends!"
As they continued to argue I saw my chance to escape. I got inside the trunk and slowly closed it.
"Hey were did she go?"
"She escaped again!"
"I know let's split up!"
"I will check by the window!"
"I will go and check the hallway!"
"Come on Owen!"
"Come on Oskar! Let's go find your girlfriend!"
I heard them leave.
Then I got out of the trunk. Finally they were gone. I waited for a bit.
I was free from them. Now I had two crazy girls after me!
There was no one around so I exit the train. Maybe I still had time to find Oscar. So far not a trace of those four. I went to the park but Oscar was not there. Then I sat in one of the benches that were near the stores.
"There you are!"
It was Oscar!
"Sorry again."
"That's ok. I just wanted to say goodbye."
"You are leaving?"
"My mom call my dad and he is going to pick us up."
"Well take care."
"You to Lucy."
"It was nice to meet you Oscar."
"It was nice to meet you too Lucy." We shook hands. He gave me a chocolate bar.
"Thanks."
"By the way be careful. There are four weird kids acting strange."
"Really." If he only knew.
"One of them even has the same name as me!"
"Interesting."
"Oscar let's go." It was his mom calling him.
I waved goodbye to Oscar. At least he would be safe from all this madness. I ate the chocolate bar. With all the energy I had wasted I was getting hungry.
Then as I was walking back both Abby and Eli saw me.
"There she is!"
Then the train began to move. I ran and got inside. I was safe but both of them were able to reach the train!
"You won't escape!"
I ran ran ran anywhere and everywhere until I made it to one of the rooms. Then suddenly the lights in the room when out.
Then I stumble into someone. I heard a voice.
"Eli is that you?"
Not Oskar. I try to find my way out of the room. But he grabbed my hand.
"I knew you would come. Listen to me please."
Why why did he continue to talk. He would not let me speak.
"You are the only one I love."
"....." Not even one word. He continue on and on.
"I even fixed the poem I wrote you."
Then things got uglier. The lights came back on. And Oskar was kneeling down and holding my hand. And who was there watching everything. Eli. Always Eli.
"Is this why you told me come?"
"Eli this is not..."
"What are you going to invent now?"
"Let me explain!"
"And you!"
"Is his fault! He would not let me talk!"
"Sure sure! Now he is proposing to you!"
"It was dark! I thought it was you Eli!"
"You boyfriend stealer!"
"I am not!"
Then a card fell from one of Oskar's pocket.
"No Eli.."
"Another poem for her!"
"It was for you!"
"You liar. Then how come you are kneeling and still holding her hand!"
Then the door open and Abby and Owen came in.
"Just in time. Now you have an audience to read her the poem!"
"Yeah well I am going to read it then!"
Then Oskar begin to recite his poem.
"Let's hear it." Abby said.
"Abby I think we ..."
"Quiet Owen. I am still mad at you."
"But I explain to you already what I ...."
"Want me to ask her again!"
"Abby don't ..."
"You what did Owen tell you about our relationship?"
"...."
"Well!"
She was scary just like Eli. I fear for my life. So I only told what Owen had said.
"Owen... said.... um... that you two.... well"
"Are what?"
"are just friends."
"Abby.." Owen became quiet. Then Oskar spoke.
"Well let me recite my poem already!"
"Now you are anxious to recite your poem to your new girlfriend!"
"Yes I am!"
"Let's hear it then!"
"Yeah! You will see!
"Begin then!"
"I will! I will!"
So Oskar begin his recital.
"To the one I love, in the universe, in the stars, in the whole world, who is always there, who I want to see everyday, who is who is who is...."
"Well..."
Oskar was stuck. That is all he had written on the card. I hated seeing him like that so I decided to help him and said:
"who is the one I adore... the.."
Then Owen helped to and said.
"One I care about, who makes me smile, who is there always by my side..." This gave Oskar courage and so he continue. He looked at Eli as he spoke.
"who listens to me, who loves me, whom I adore, whom for her I am here, to the one I love the most in the whole world, who I am happy to see everyday."
"Bravo Bravo Oskar!" I said.
"You to were part of this Owen!"
"Abby I am sorry. I was.."
"What!"
"caught in the moment..."
"See I told you Abby she wants to steal Owen from you!"
"No I don't!"
Two crazy girls. Two helpless boys. Then I lost my mind too.
"Yes Eli I like Oskar too! And when we grow up we are getting married!"
"Never!"
"We will send you the invitation when we do!"
"You won't because before that happens...."
"What are you going to do?"
"I am going to kill you!"
"Come on then! What are you waiting for?"
Eli was launching towards me when the light when out again.
"Where is she?"
I scramble to the wall and slowly begin to look for the exit.
"You won't get away!"
Then I found the door and I pretended to go out I said.
"Both Oskar and Owen are mine!"
This only got them more angry. I hid by one of the seats waiting for them to leave.
"I'll get you Lucy!"
"Abby let Lucy.."
"No Owen. I won't let Lucy steal you from me!"
Then they went out and Oskar and Owen follow them.
I was safe for now.
Then the light came back on. There was no one. Then the an announcement from the train.
"The train will be arriving in one hour to the next stop. Thank you."
Another hour and now I had two girls who were after me. I wish the hour would pass fast and I could be free. Then I saw on the floor a bag of candies. The wrapper said Now and Laters. Well I would eat them later for sure.
I left and there was no one in the hallway. Then I decided to find another place were I could be safe. I went to the balcony by the end of the train. I sat on the floor. Here I would wait until the hour pass. Abby and Eli were probably going from door to door checking inside the train. Then as always someone came. It was just Owen. Somehow I was not worry. When he saw me he did not run or get mad.
"Hey Lucy."
"Hi Owen."
"Where is Abby?"
"She is running around the train trying to find you."
"So is Eli and Oskar." I sighed.
"Abby is not like that She is..."
"yeah"
"always in control, she is mature, cool, collective but.."
"I am sure she is."
"now she is losing control. Abby is not herself."
I could think of one reason why she was like that. Because of Eli's bad influence.
Then I took out the bag of candies.
"Want some candies?"
"They are my favorite ones!"
"Cool!"
"It even has a song! Want to hear it?"
"Yeah!"
So Owen begin to sing and whistle.
"Eat some now, save some for later.."
Then we begin to sign together."
"Eat some now,...."
"Save some for later..."
And then....
"So you offer other girls candies to Owen!"
"Abby!"
"And then you sign to them!"
"Well at least..."
"What Owen?"
"She knows what candies I like!"
"I told you they ran out of those candies when I went to the store!"
"Then how come she has some!"
"I'll buy you some later then!"
"No!"
"What do you mean?"
"I am staying with Lucy!"
What! Now Owen was going crazy too.
"Come on Lucy!"
And he grabbed my hand.
"Owen come back."
This had to be a nightmare!
"I am sorry Lucy."
"That's ok Owen."
"Is just that Abby."
"Don't worry she will see she is wrong."
"Want to go eat?"
"Sure." Owen was much nicer than Oskar.
So off we went to eat. Owen open the door for me and waited for me to go in first. Than he pull out the chair for me and waited for me to sit down. No wonder Abby liked him. Owen was a gentleman unlike Oskar. Oskar why was I suddenly saying his name all the time. Wonderful. That is all I needed to ruin this night. I was beginning to like Oskar!
"Just great." I mumble.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing."
Then the waiter came.
"Here is the menu. In a few minutes I will take your order."
"Thank you."
I saw another two people sitting in another table. A young woman and a young man. He had dark brown hair. She had black spiky hair. The two of them looked like they were sparkling.
Then I looked around and who was sitting on the next table. Eli and Oskar. Then Oskar was looking at me weirdly. Like if he was angry.
"Where do you think Jasper went?
"He said to wait for him here."
"But you can see the future."
"You think is easy."
"Alice I.."
"Just be quiet Edward."
"Will you stop reading minds. Give those kids some privacy!"
"I can't help it."
"Great now I know their names."
"I am sorry.."
"Edward what are you doing to those kids?"
"I am not doing anything!"
"Then it must be Jasper."
"What are you going to order Lucy?" Owen was nice. He cared about what I was going to order. Unlike ....
"Let see.."
Ah he Oskar Grrr I said his name again! Why did he keep staring at me? I try not to look and concentrated on the menu.
"Lasagna and a pepsi."
"I can't believe her."
"Oskar are you ok."
"That is the dish she order.."
"Oskar why do you keep.."
"After all the time we spend together."
"Oskar!"
"I am sorry you were right Eli I like Lucy!"
"So finally you admit it!"
"What did I say?"
"That you like Lucy!"
"Is not true! I did not.."
"Then what!"
"Excuse me are you two ready to..."
"Yes we want two lasagnas!"
Eli and Oskar(grgrrr I said his name) were fighting once again. This time they could not blame me. I was with Owen. Then the waiter came over.
"We want two..." How rude. At the same time they were ordering to.
"You heard me two lasagnas!!"
My ears hurt from hearing Eli screaming.
"Can you repeat your order please?"
"Two lasagnas and two sodas."
Then again her screams.
"And two sodas!"
Then Owen started to act strange.
"Lucy I have..."
"What is going on Owen?"
Then he stood on top of the table and said. And who came in right at that moment Abby!
"I like you Lucy!"
"What? Owen get down..."
"Do you hear me Oskar!"
"I like Lucy!"
Then Oskar came over!
And Abby kept looking at me.
"What did you say!"
I manage to get Owen down.
"Will you sit down."
"What did he said!"
Eli was holding Oskar. I did not like that.
"You are the cause of all this!"
"I am not."
"Your plan worked. Both of them like you now."
Eli dragged Oskar back to the table. Ah how many times had I said his name.
Then Abby went to sit with Eli and Oskar. I wish it was me seating next to him. Not those two. Aah I must be going crazy.
Abby and Eli just kept looking at me at me at me with their angry eyes!! I was starting to get annoyed. Then Owen too was staring at me. He had his whole time devoted to me.
"Stop that Owen. Abby is.."
"I can't help it..."
Then he held my hand! I pull it away. Then I got up and it happened. I hit the waiter and the plates of lasagna when flying and landed. I was in double trouble.
The lasagna landed on Abby and Eli. They stood up. I was stumbling.
"I am sorry.."
"You are going to pay!"
They grabbed two plates of pasta from another table and threw it at me. I try to cover myself and all I heard was:
"No!"
Then I saw both Oskar and Owen standing infront of me cover with spaghetti sauce.
"I'll protect you Lucy!"
"No I will protect her!"
Both were fighting over me. Then I saw a guy with dark blond hair. He was laughing. It was him he was causing this!
"Come on you two!"
Then Abby and Eli came over.
"Now you have them fighting over you!"
"Is not me! Is ..."
But they would not listen. So I was off running from them. But before I left I grabbed a plate full of cold tomatoe soup and threw it to that blond guy. Then I was running for my life again.
"I am cover in tomatoe juice ugh. Alice told me the wrong vision."
"That's what you get. Alice told you to leave those kids alone."
"Anyways I am not done with my fun."
"What?"
"Yes you are Casper."
"Alice I just.."
"You better fix this because I see something bad happening."
I ran and ran to the end of the train. There was a window open.
"You are trapped!" I was so angry.
I climb the window.
"By the way!"
"What!"
"Oskar is mine!"
I had a plan.
"Don't come up or I will throw myself!"
I heard Oskar's voice. I was holding on to the ladder at the end of the train.
"Eli please..."
I took out my shoes and my sweater. Then I threw them.
"Eli she did it. Lucy jumped off the train!"
"No she did not!"
Then the train stop. It had arrived at the train station.
"I will show you."
I saw Eli coming down and hid under the train. Then she left. I then got back inside the train. I went to lay down in one of the benches that were in one of the compartments. I was too tired and sleepy. I then rolled over and landed on a trunk. It closed accidently but I was to deep in my sleep to care.
"So did you find Lucy?"
"No, all I found was this." Eli showed a pair of shoes.
"What about you Abby?
"No, I only found her sweater."
"Then what that girl Alice with spiky hair showed us in her visions was true."
"Lucy was telling the truth."
"And well at least that Edward and Jasper were cut into pieces by Alice."
"She said it was going to take them a long time to put themselves together again.
Then the four said goodbye.
"Take care."
"Will keep in contact."
Then the landing of the trunk woke me up. I heard a man's voice.
"Can I help ...."
Then someone growled. Then there was some announcement about a train leaving followed by far way footsteps.
Then familiar voices. Eli and Oskar.
"Just like Lucy when she interrupted ..."
"Eli is ok."
"After all those misunderstandings if only I could..."
"Eli.."
"see her and apologize then..."
She did care after all! I tapped on the trunk.
"What was that?"
"Is coming from the trunk."
"Can it be!"
The trunk was open. Eli and Oskar were holding hands.
"Hi again."
"Lucy you are alive!"
"You are alive Lucy!"
Then they began to give me hugs. Eli was jumping and holding my hands.
"Relax guys."
Then I saw that my hands were cover in blood. I had not notice I had pricked myself and some of my blood was dripping.
"Looks like you finally made your pact."
Eli was horrified and look at Oskar.
"Lucy is infected too Oskar."
"She is! What are we going to do?"
"What are you guys talking about?"
Then Eli begin to explain.
"You mean from now on I can only eat blood?"
Then nodded.
"And not go into the sun?"
Another nod.
"And live forever?"
One more nod.
"You know the only thing I am going to miss."
"What?"
"Not being able to eat hot dogs, lasagna, candies, pasta, pizza,"
"Lucy.."
"chocolates, watermelon, chips, and..."
I went on with my list for a while until Eli stop me. Then she gave me my shoes and sweater.
"Thank you."
Then I stood between them and put my left arm in Eli's shoulder and my right arm in Oskar's shoulder and said:
"I think we are going to be great friends!"
