I do not understand why this film remains as much in the head, it is almost scary ...

Hi, tawkins. The movie grabbed me the same way. There is just so much to it, and the more I watch it and read about it, the more it grows in my head. As a bonus, many members have written fan fictions about Eli and Oskar. After nearly two years, I'm still obsessed with this world.

It's good you found this forum pretty quick. I stumbled around on the Internet reading reviews and blogs from March until July before I came here. Once I did, I knew I was home.

Welcome to the forum! Glad you have found it! It is always nice with new members with their new and blossoming infections! If you haven't read the original book, you might want to. :)

Thank you for the welcome.
I received the book yesterday, I love even if I do not read usual. You learn a lot about Hakan and unhealthy relationship with Eli.
It would be great that there is a sequel.
I realize that I do not manage to see eli as a boy .. am I the only one?

Welcome :D
In the film, Eli definitely looked like a girl. The director, Tomas Alfredson, said that Eli and Oskar should be complementary, like pepper and salt, two sides of a coin. Oskar the hunted one, fair and weak, Eli a predator, dark and strong. So I think Alfredson chose a girl actor for Eli on purpose, because he wanted the boy/girl visual. Even if he showed Eli's castration scar in the end...

I do not view Eli as a girl. But many, most who have seen the movie before reading the book view Eli as a girl. No harm there :)

There is an Epilogue. It is part of a collection of short stories entitled "Let The Old Dreams Die".

You don't get to see much of Eli and Oscar in the Epilogue, instead the story centres around a parallel relationship of love, devotion, and simply being meant for each other, between two small characters from the original novel.
