LTROI related dreams?

I'm also a staunch defender of the criminally underrated NIER. It has its severe flaws, but the good aspects gloriously kick the weak ones' asses.

You must've written this down right after you woke up because I can almost never remember dreams with this level of detail after more than an hour or so has passed. Seems to me the overarching theme is that parental neglect can kill a child just as easily as outright abuse. And maybe, in general, you view Eli as a misunderstood victim. Not sure.

Actually this is one of those dreams I can remember clearly long after, but some of my dreams do quickly fade away. I agree, the theme seemed to be emotional neglect and I so see Eli as a misunderstood victim.

Tapetrve, that was a really cool dream - curiously I've never dreamt with both Eli and Oskar, only with each separately.

Lombano's dream sounds intresting. It almost suggest that vampirism may not be the root of Eli's unhappiness after all .

Well, in my dream Eli had no emotional connection to anyone at all, which seemed to be the immediate cause of her problems.

However remembering these dreams are not the easiest thing in the world, and some are just near impossible to explain because they make absolutely no sense. Normally when trying to explain a dream, I have to try to make some sense to sometimes vague and out of context images.

My dreams also usually make no sense. Lately they've included chucking medium format cameras into bonfires, Africa (where I've never been), mental hospitals, Scotland, etc.

I also used to have dreams related to LTROI, a long time ago, when I was still highly infected and not a day passed without thinking about it or watching some scenes. I have never written anything about it because I remembered so little from them that was coherent enough to describe and, as usual with my dreams, all kinds of things from my personal life where involved, usually in quite absurd ways.

But I remember a few things. First, meeting Oskar on a train. I remember I told him various things about the Rubik's cube and then we played chess (!), and I was surprised how strong a player he was. And then he asked me to visit him and meet his friend, who I knew was Eli. I must have agreed, because later in this dream and other dreams I was often visiting them or attempting to visit them.

Next, there was something weird in these dreams, which must have originated from association with and memory of Dracula films. Eli and Oskar in a great medieval castle on a distant uninhabited island. The island was covered with thick forest and the castle was in the middle of it. It seemed that the forrest was full of wild beasts, but they way humanoid in appearance, something like the island of dr. Moreau. Nobody dared to go there but I remember Oskar telling me "it was the safest place on earth" and that "Eli is the scariest thing there is here but you need not worry about her". I have no idea what Eli lived on, perhaps it was the blood of unfortunate curious trespassers. But I never felt in any danger there for I was a friend of theirs.

The island and the castle appeared in many subsequent dreams and I often saw Oskar there but never Eli. But I could fee her presence and not only did that not make me afraid but the other way round: her presence made me feel safe. I was a friend of theirs and the island and castle were a kind of place of refuge to which I was always trying to escape when I was in danger for no one else dared to enter it.

That's all there is to it. There seems to be so little relation to anything that actually happens in the film and no vampirism or blood. What remains in my memory is Eli, whom I never see but who terrifying to others but also my friend and a source of protection and safety is pretty clearly drawn from the way I saw the film. I my dreams I was of course not Oskar but a friend of Oskar (whom I was usually trying to find) but I never felt any fear or any danger to myself.

I had one LTROI including dream a while ago. I don't recall the details (of course), but I was in charge for some kind of trip/excursion which was a mess organising. Because one of the participants, Eli, had to be protected against sunlight

A while ago I had a dream pertaining to LTROI. This was the most unique dream I have ever had in terms of its format. You know those adventure books written for kids between the ages of say 8 and 13? Usually they will have some sort of fairly simple black and white drawings every few pages that illustrate a scene from the book. This dream was basically as if I were paging through such a book looking only at the pictures. Each picture was accompanied by feelings and impressions which I'll included in parens().

First I saw a picture of a little (12 year old) boy (Oskar?) who appeared to be distressed by something (he is having strange sensations and images).

In the next picture the boy is in the woods and has transformed into a werecat! On the limb of a nearby tree stands a being who is only shown in a sort of wavy outline (another werecat who sensed Oskar's transformation?)

Next the werecat boy is leaping up from the beam of a building still under construction (learning how to use his powers). On the beam above sits the outline of the being (other werecat?)

Next the being has solidified and is a female werecat (Eli?). She and (Oskar?) are flying! (She is taking him to meet other strange creatures)

Then there is a picture from some distance in which (Oskar & Eli?) are flying with the moon in the background. Around them are the outlines of other creatures. They look like werecats, werewolves, gargoyles, were-bumblebees!?, and other assorted creatures. The other creatures are flying around Oskar and Eli (werecats are the most powerful of these creatures)

Next the werecat boy & girl are lying in (a cave) wrapped around each other. It's adorable. On a rug next to them are a collection of toys including an egg. It's definitely them!

Now they are sitting in a large clearing with lots of other creatures. (It is a war counsel! Some great evil is threatening, and the creatures must band together to fight it!)

Next there are many of these creatures including Oskar and Eli attacking a large tower. (The evil is in there)

No! Eli has been badly injured! She lies dying in Oskar's arms.

Now dead, she reverts back to human form. Eli is wearing the adorable multi-colored sweater and crazy pants from the movie.

Now the "format" of the dream changes. Until this point it had been a series of black and white drawings. They are still drawings, but now they are moving and speaking.

With large tears rolling down his furry face, Oskar says, "She needs KISS." Then he produces a walkman with a KISS tape and puts the earphones in Eli's ears. He starts the music and kisses Eli on the cheek. Then he takes the backpack containing a powerful bomb from the nearest creature and says "I'll finish this!" He flies into the large hole they have blown into the building. A few seconds later there is a large explosion. It is over.

Finally, I am standing next to an open casket deep within a cave. Eli lies in it with a leather pouch (containing Oskar's fragments) between her folded arms. I am crying my eyes out. The scene fades. Dream over.

I had a dream related to LTROI last night, and it was one of the most pleasant dreams I had in a long time . Not that I understand how I could possibly have anything else then an nightmare considering I watched this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VurhzANQ_B0&ob=av2e like five times before I went to bed (Warning, very disturbing content, do not watch unless you can handle murder and necrofilia ).

The dream is kind of hazy. It took place in a snowy landscape in a suburb to a city (probably Blackeberg) I was a young boy (I could tell because my eye level was lower than normal), I remember shoplifting some candy and a bottle of coke and going home. I ate the candy and drank the coke in the basement, sitting on a bed (for some reason there was a bed in the basement). All the sudden I saw a young "girl" sitting next to me, who I now recognize as Eli. The girl put a hand on my shoulder, I offered her a piece of candy. She smiled and took it, though she did not eat it, she put it in her pocket. I took her hand and we both laid down on the bed, just watching each other untill the scene faded away.

The next thing I remember was about playing with Eli in the snow outside, throwing snowballs and rolling around. Eli helped me to shoplift some more candy. We played indoors as well, Eli hugged me and gave me a kiss. I watched Eli eat some candy and I can not remember her vomiting. It was truly heaven.

Then..something happened, I do not what. The only thing I saw was some blood on the snow outside. Eli had to leave and I had to choose between coming with her and staying with my parents. I choose to come with Eli. I entered the front seat of a car Eli intended to use for travel, Eli took the drivers seat (apparently she had a drivers licence) and we began out journey...and I had never been happier . Then I awoke because of the noise my alarm clock made .

I also remember another dream I had about LTROI a while ago. I did not post it then because I had not figured about that it was about Eli until recently. It was however a terrible nightmare.

In this dream, I was a child. Me and a older caretaker who I felt greatly for traveled to another country because of some tragedy at our homeland. We rented a apartment and unpacked. Soon I was feeling hungry and my caretaker went out to get some food. I waited for hours without him returning, feeling the hunger tearing me apart. I fell asleep and awoke next day/night (I never did see the sky from that point so I don't know) with even worse hunger. I decided to get some food myself. I went to the door only to find that it had been sealed shut by iron, I tried to find a window but I could not find any. All the sudden the TV was turned on, I found no other choice than to watch. It was about a trial.

The trial had no lawyer to defend the accused and the judge and the persecutor was the same person, a young man in his twenties, with long golden hair, wearing white. The accused was no other than my caretaker. What exactly he did I never found out, it was called "heresy" in the trial. He did ask a person for something, but what I can only guess. At the time I thought he asked for food to feed his starving child and this was considered "heresy" for this obvious facist theocratic goverment. Now I guess that he really asked a person to donate blood. The man was found guilty and sentenced to death, at my uttermost despair. At the mention of whatto do with the man's child, the judge said that he had already judged "her" to be confined in the apartment until death by starvation, being forced to watch the public execution of her "father"

Before the execution, I was forced to watch hours upon hours of torture. They broke his arms, pulled out all his teeth and beat him bloody before pouring acid in his face. Finally, after all this, he was killed in front of my eyes. He was burned alive on a pyre. I cried as I listened to his agonizing screams. After his death, the tv turned of and I was alone. Crying like never before, in the empty void that was the apartment, until hunger took its course and I faded away.

I once believed that this dream was about myself as a child, watching the execution of my father, it is just the thing that the child that I was in the dream was refered to as a "she". I recently began to think that maybe this dream is about Eli, the caretaker maybe being an older version of Oskar, which explains the child's affection. The thought patterns of the child I was in the dream is not really in-line with my own, it do fit Eli however, Eli watching her beloved being tortured and killed.

I have recently read about dreams in psychology, there is a theory that states that you will most likely dream about what dominate your subconcious. This would essentially mean that the more space LTROI takes in your mind, the more would you dream about it. Because of the number of times I do dream something Eli related, I can draw the conclusion that I am pretty obsessed .

It's been a while now, but I have finnaly beat the false king . Nier looks intresting, maybe I will check that out sometime. Do you have any other reccomendations for PS3?
