Kåre Hedebrant Art Project

Re: Kåre Hedebrant Art Project
I'd much prefer someone with humility and perspective, than one living on past glories.
Re: Kåre Hedebrant Art Project
I feel some of this kind of confusion / concern in Kare´s letter. Likedjrees56 wrote:I once read an interview with the actor who played "Biggs"(Luke Skywalkers X-Wing home planet friend). He was actually a very accomplished working actor before and after the first Star Wars movie. He did express a little frustration because he knew how popular the movie was and he was getting alot of fan mail, but he said "Its like all people think I did was Star Wars" and he'd been acting professionally for years.
"LTROI what ? Oh yes. Now i remember. Right. But now. Let's talk about really important thing . Humanlike robots, for example."
The problem is ,/ someone noticed it before/ ,Lina and Kare in LTROI are so much Eli and Oskar they really don´t have to do and say nothing , just stand there.
To play human-like robot. /I feel like one right now at work

Re: Kåre Hedebrant Art Project
I think there's a difference between how actors (and other performing artists) perceive their work and how the rest of us might because actors leave a piece of themselves for eternity. Long after they've left one particular performing situation and moved on to new ones, their past performances are still there for old fans to re-live and new fans to discover.

Re: Kåre Hedebrant Art Project
OK, that just made my day. I was going to say "too bad he doesn't know the extent of the infection", but realized it's more like "it's a darn good thing he doesn't know the extent of the infection -- he'd probably put extra locks on his windows". Yes, people think we're crazy. We've all seen that look, right, when we try to explain it all to a regular person? The attempt to change the subject. The backing away *very* *slowly*...
Still, I choose to dwell on "I am honoured and surprised, in fact overwhelmed, by the attention you've shown me." Quite gracious.
Thanks to ACL, and especially Covenant, for making this happen. Your work -- everyone's glory.
Just one thing I've got to ask. The note from Kåre -- there are lots of wrinkles but no fold lines. ACL, how did it get to you? Did you find it on your dresser in the morning after having a very strange dream?

It came in an oversized envelope.
How do you know it was really Dare and not an avid fan posing as Kare..maybe even having facial cosmetic surgery(like some Micheal Jackson fans do)to look like him?
The wrinkles on the note:Obvious...maybe too obvious..to make the note look authentic and give it appropriate aging and importance
Was the over-sized envelope delivered by someone who still had cosmetic surgery scars...were they wearing a t-shirt that said "I wish I was Kare"..was the vehicle they arrived in driven by an older woman that kept yelling "Hurry up Lars, your going to be late for soccer practice!"

Awww that's so cool
...glad he got it and appreciated it
But I do have to reply to something else because this kind of interested me
I know of some directors who have voiced this before, Kevin Smith is an example where he has voiced that even though he loves Clerks and Chasing Amy, the lament was that there were times he just couldn't move on from it because of the fans. Even though he loves it and appreciates the fans, he has had that lament
And I've just always wondered if that has ever applied to anyone involved with LTROI (Tomas, Kare, Lina, JAL)...like I know they're all probably proud of this, but still...well you get it (hopefully)
But I do have to reply to something else because this kind of interested me
Granted I know this was meant in a humorous fashion...but still I've been wondering this for quite some time. I know JAL pops up from time to time on these boards and I always have to wonder if he thinks the same things....so much so that I still wonder if Little Star was meant to be somewhat of a play on fandom and obsession (hard to go into this without spoiling really)...I know that LTROI is JAL's baby and that he will always have a soft spot for it, but I've always wondered if there ever comes a point where one might slightly lament it. Okay lament may be a little too harsh of word, but I do have to wonder if people like JAL have ever thought "yeah that was a time of my life, I'm very proud of that work, but I would like to move on and show everyone what else I can do"...like the stigma of that one work defining you, and I've always wondered if there ever comes a point where these people do maybe lament that stigma a little. (if that makes sense).I think he considers us a bit odd. Really?![]()
