Yes, notice in the basement scene when she looks up after licking the blood from the floor. When I reread the book I was reminded of that face when there was a line that said that "a ghost flew into her face". And when she climbed in the tree, her eyes look all crazed and wild. Really like something else has taken over.snakefind wrote:Did it really change that much during the making of the movie?sauvin wrote:It also helps disguise the fact that Leandersson's face is changing shape as a perfectly natural consequence of entering another phase of growth.
Not at all like Lina's normal face, that looks so innocent when she's healthy. When she gets kicked off Virginia by Lacke, her face looks normal again and she looks as if she wakes up from some sort of trance state. "What the hell just happened?" Seeing Oskar's blood dripping on the floor made something snap inside of her.
It's amazing what you can do by something so small as making the eyes bigger.
I only notice just now that her eyes aren't blue in this scene.a_contemplative_life wrote:

Yeah, in the scene when she climbs into bed with Oskar her eyes are crazy blue. I don't think you see them that blue again anywhere else.

True. They're also huge, huge and blue.

It's not only the eyes that was changed in that scene.Alaska wrote:Yes, notice in the basement scene when she looks up after licking the blood from the floor. Changing to an older actress is another neat trick you can use to make someone look different for a while.

Wow, dude. I never knew what the second time was when she was replaced by an old actress. I knew the "be me a little" part of course, but I never knew when the second time was! I never never realized this! I did notice she looked different the second time you saw her... but I thought it was her face, only badly edited.
Exciting stuff.

Something similar was done during the making of "The Exorcist"(1973)
While Linda Blair played the main character with "possessed" makeup, Eileen Dietz also wore same makeup for certain key shots in the film.
