Somehow I suspect this guy does not build with pine.
The superstructure (seat, etc.) is pine. The rest is oak and poplar.

Every year a little town near here has a billy-cart derby. It's not a competition and there are no prizes it's just for the kids to have fun.The main street is closed for the day,has hay bales along the street and a lot of people try to make it look sort of fancy and safe.As the kids take off one at a time, the whole crowd cheers and encourages them. The smiles on the kid's faces when they reach the end with the crowd cheering and clapping for them is just priceless.
Please Oskar.Be me for a little while.

I think it would be great to have an event like that in my community.

Finally got the wheels on this thing. I ordered some pillow block 1/2" bearings for the axles, but the bases were too big so I sent them back and went with a prior method of attaching them. Now I need to add a little more hardware and a brake and it will be finished.

Gorgeous. Hats off to you, sir!

Congratulations! You've now built one for Oskar and one for Eli. Let the fun in a parallel universe begin!
