It has arrived (3-20-14)
Book arrived today. Only took a week and a half. Nice drawings...wish there was more of them.
Will it hold me over until "Himmelstrand" hits UK? Are you kidding...I can't wait that long.

I hope the stories are as fantastic as the dust jacket!

Got mine today!
But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist

Read the one by JAL first, of course...

COME UNTO ME
Starts out slow. Deceptively appearing to be a story from a different genre. Surprisingly erotic in several parts. Secret.
Slow revelation. At which point the story gradually turns dark and ghastly. Worthy of old Vault of Horror comics from EC.
Tomte. From dark and ghastly it moves to grisly and gruesome. A revenge and escape seem to resolve the story at first, but as in any good horror yarn there is no happy ending. Brothers Grimm would have been proud.
Good tale that is cinematic by nature and would feel right at home as a part of Amicus Horror anthology..if only they still made them the way they used to.
Finally...It's a page turner. Enjoyed it tremendously. Hope other stories just as good. JAL's bio says that Handling the Undead and Harbor are being turned into films. Guess they are still in development.
The creature from Russian folklore that resembles Tomte the most is Domovoi...with a few differences...Anyway. COME UNTO ME. Solid horror story. Very, very good.
PS: For the record...it felt good reading new stuff.

...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.
