( correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I remember reading somewhere that JAL did not think of Eli being a castrated boy until after he started writing the story as Eli as a girl. The core of the story still works either way imo)
I actually had this same thought; that Eli had been conceived initially as a girl until JAL changed his mind later. I had actually built up pretty elaborate scaffolding to support my theory, and actually started my own thread on the subject: http://www.let-the-right-one-in.com/for ... 32&p=28527

Until JAL set me straight here :D : http://www.let-the-right-one-in.com/for ... 620#p28620

Huh,I see. Thanks for setting me straight Pete.

Excuse me for a moment while I shove my foot directly in my mouth.

Despite its flaws LMI will always hold a special place in my heart because it was another stepping stone towards me becoming infected. If I had not watched it I never would have read Lee Kyle's LMI2 which convinced me to start reading fan fiction again. If I had not read LMI2 I never would havery read a story by GK that was based off of LMI2 and started a dialog with him. And if that had not have happened he wouldn't have convinced me to sign up for some kinda infected forum. ;)
