Blood dries pretty quickly. It wouldn't have been sticky.

Nope. Within minutes it would have been dry, crusty and somewhat abrasive.

Creatures living of blood always have special enzymes in their saliva whose prevent the blood to dry. Vampires are pretty much specialized on blood, so i presume they are not diferent. Actually it´s seem to be more crucial for such creature than sharp teeth.

There didn't seem to be that much blood on her face, at least the part Owen actually touched, so it would be easy for him not to notice some dried blood (think of it like the dried blood on her hand during the Be Me a Little scene - none of it gets on Owen's chin when she touches him).

Besides, doesn't Owen have other things on his mind at that exact moment? He's perhaps not fully awake, Abby just agreed to go steady, a naked girl is in his bed. Easy to miss the finer details in such circumstances.

Her clothes are wet and cold. She's getting into bed with someone she likes. Why wouldn't she undress? Where's the mystery? Would you put a soaking wet pile of clothes in bed with a friend?

I sometimes wonder if maybe the scene wasn't meant to convey not only a degree of emotional vulnerability on Abby's part but also to imply that she's so out of touch with "contemporary community values" that jumping into bed naked with a boy just doesn't mean anything to her.

That seems like a reasonable possibility. But then what does her question, "Is that gross?" mean?

It means that she's remarking on Owen's need to remark on these things. Like, "Uh, oh, did I do something strange or stupid again?"
