Anyway, I think it's a decent review, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I would like to hear a bit more about the acting from Kodi, Chloe and Richard.

When I read the word "Special Presentations", I thought the film has already premiered at TIFF. After checking the calendar, I realized today is Sept. 9, not Sept. 13.

There has already been a press screening, so more reviews should be appearing soon. I was going to pass on this at the Festival and just wait until later, but my curiousity is killing me. I just may have to bum a ticket off someone and see it next week.
Re: Let Me In review (Torontoist)
Well, I saw the original in 2008 in my local theatre and thought it was a masterpiece. One day after that, I bought the book at Chapters. Then I bought the DVD on the first day that it was released. But I am also interested in seeing the remake.Reeves' movie is of interest to only that subset of movie-goers who want to see a horror movie about an juvenile predator, but can't be bothered with reading subtitles.
Re: Let Me In review (Torontoist)
That's because we actually know the original

Re: Let Me In review (Torontoist)
Just what I expected. I might still see the movie though.

Another (capsule) review. Hmmm...

Let Me In tells the story of a young boy (played by Kodi Smit-McPhee) who befriends his new neighbour (played by Chloe Moretz) before learning she is a vampire. I was skeptical about this American adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel, Let the Right One In (Låt den rätte komma in), mainly because it was already turned into an excellent movie back in 2008. To my surprise, they kept what was good in the original and replaced what was lacking in it with more solid scenes, in turn making it a better film experience. **** out of 5 stars

I hope you get to see it. I would trust a review by one of The Infected over any movie critic.gymmy64 wrote:There has already been a press screening, so more reviews should be appearing soon. Re: Let Me In review (Torontoist)
I want to like this movie. But better than the original? I can't imagine how that can be possible given the depth that Kare and Lina brought to their roles. I doubt it will be as good as the original for that reason.
