Synopsis for Lina's new film Lillemor
http://www.midsummerfilms.com/fullnews2.html
The London based Production Company Feature One has again teamed up producer Edward Tull and director Ben O'Connor around a new feature film, a road movie with a difference. Set in remote areas, this is an intimate and introspective piece, where the characters travelling together, are forced by the intimate circumstances to explore the very uncomfortable, at times painful and always baffling universe of love, family, sexuality and what constitutes the fragility, mystery and the chiaroscuro of deep human emotions and desires.
The main character will have to confront his addiction and the aftermath of tragedy that struck him and estranged him from his relatives. On the road, the past also catches up with him, leading to an eventual collision of revelations, truths, perceptions and unresolved dark currents.
An art house drama, Lillemore is about five characters that have to face the need to, eventually and regardless of how painful this may be, wake up and try to resolve unspoken issues that have kept sleeping shadows stirring. Powerfully evocative, this film will be produced by Midsummerfilms and post produced by Molinaire, possibly in an international setting and with a leading cast, for a shoot starting in 2012.

I would like to see this movie happen, but I can't help having doubts. Every time some news comes along, it's always basically the same information, but with the scheduled shoot sometime in the future. They must be having a lot of difficulty getting the money. It seems that still another production company is planning it now. Oh, well!

It would be great to see Lina in a dramatic role as a more mature young woman. I hope they make this and that it will be available to those of us across the Atlantic.

Re: Synopsis for Lina's new film Lillemor
I had a great hope for this film. For a second there it looked like LL would actually escape heavy shadow of LTROI(not that LTROI was not AWESOME) and break out into non-genre films. Unfortunately it looks like "Lillemor" might not happen. Ben O'Connor is an independent filmmaker whose first film "Ana Begins" had great reviews, but then vanished into obscurity. Try and find this movie on video....
Anyway, it seems that O'Connor having some trouble bringing "Lillemor" to the big screen.
This means we won't be seeing posters that might look something like this anytime soon...

Are you suggesting that watching Lina would be a near-religious experience?Nightrider wrote:I had a great hope for this film. Re: Synopsis for Lina's new film Lillemor
That's the reality of movie making today. If a movie isn't perceived as "blockbuster" status, or at least will make more than it cost, it often doesn't get made at all, or gets very little exposure. And you have to consider the general public's aversion to subtitles. And then there are the imponderables; those things that no one can forsee. Since European Psycho was filmed (at least in part) in England, it might have a good chance if it's in English. Just keep your fingers crossed.a_contemplative_life wrote:It would be great to see Lina in a dramatic role as a more mature young woman.
