Lina Leandersson's new film "Tenderness" begins filming

Post by Tom » Thu Mar 15, 2012 12:11 pm

Swedish 16-year-old actress Lina Leandersson, who played the lead in Thomas Alfredson's Let the Right One In will star with Sebastian Hiort af Ornäs in Swedish director Sofia Norlin's feature debut Tenderness, which starts principal photography this week (March 15) in Kiruna, Sweden's northernmost city. Leandersson just finished her work on Estonian director Kadri Kousaar's European Psycho; Hiort af Ornäs had his screen breakthrough in Swedish director Babak Najafi's Sebbe.

Tenderness will film on location until mid-June and will have its world premiere during this year's Stockholm festival (between November 7-18) before its release in spring 2013.

That's cool :)

I'm glad her career has started to take off.

Record Start for Sofia Norlins feature film debut in Kiruna

March 14, 2012 11:55 CST

The film crew is in place in Kiruna and the days start recording of Sofia Norlins debut film, financed by the Stockholm International Film Festival Feature Film Award with Telia as the main financier. It is also clear that Lina Leandersson who achieved success as a vampire girl Eli in "Let the Right One In" plays a leading role against Sebastian Hiort Af Ornäs.

Sofia Norlin begins in the days shooting his debut film produced by Olivier Guerpillon for DFM. It is a depiction of friendship, love and a few young people taking their first steps towards the future and struggling with their lives change. Specifically, the film is that it takes place in Kiruna, the town with the mine as a pounding heart and that is also a changing society.

It is already clear that Sebastian Hiort Af Ornäs, which had worked in the title role in Guldbagge winning "Sebbe," plays one of the leading roles and is now also Lina Leandersson who last appeared as the vampire girl Eli in "Let the Right One In" ready to play the second major role.

Videotaping will run until mid-June and the film has its world premiere during the festival: 7 to 18 November 2012 and Swedish theatrical release of NonStop Entertainment in spring 2013.

From 14 March you can follow the recording onhttp://www.stockholmfilmfestival.se/stipendieblogg

She seems to be doing quite well; three movies so far in the past year. Might as well make hay while the sun shines. :D Kiruna is certainly getting a lot of attention in recent years. First came the news that part of the town will have to be moved because the vein of iron ore runs diagonally under it and the town is beginning to sink. Hardly surprising when you consider that there are 300 km of tunnels underground. Both Kiruna Kyrka (voted the most beautiful building in Sweden) and Stadshuset (City Hall) will have to be moved. The church will be moved in one piece, but the city hall will have to be cut in several pieces. That will give tourists something different to watch for a while. And of course there are Åsa Larsson's murder mysteries centered around Kiruna. In a smaller way, she is sort of doing for Kiruna what Stieg Larsson did for Stockholm. And one of the novels (Sun Storm) has been filmed in Kiruna. As for Lina's new movie, it apparently is based around this moving that is going to happen.

Maybe these kids are gonna put a stop to all this mining?

PS: If you haven't read the Åsa Larsson novels, they are available in English.

All the links from above seem to be gone. Is there an updated way to see this stuff?

I think the problem is that the links are good, but they haven't been updated yet. Most of the information there appears to refer to 2011. It's possible that there wasn't any new information relating to Lina in the first place, although it seems there would be later on. I think the links will be more productive in the next few weeks; perhaps the next few months.

Well maybe, but when you see:

"Press pictures of Lina Leandersson and from the shoot on http://www.stockholmfilmfestival.se/press"

you'd kind of expect to see press pictures of Lina Leandersson when you clicked on the link. But no.
