Håkan and Jocke?

Post by pgktdanielhh » Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:39 pm

Hello all,

I am new to the infected, but I have been re-re-reading LTROI for an essay on literary 'representations of little girls'* and rediscovering my love for this world.

A very small detail has caught my eye, and I was wondering if anyone had any further thoughts on this.

It is somewhat strange to me that Håkan and Jocke share a surname, Bengtsson. Does anyone have any possible theories? Are they perhaps related? Or is this just a coincidence?

Thank you! Love to you all!

*I know Eli is not a little girl, but I am interested in the ways they deviate from this notion

Well, Bengtsson is a fairly common surname - apparently the 17th commonest surname in Sweden.

But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist
