Letting go
Letting go
I'd like to bid a heartfelt farewell to all the wonderful people here who I have had so many brilliant discussions with over the past five years. But it appears that there is just so much blood that can be wrung from a film and novel and it seems that pretty much all that can be said and postulated has already been done. Like anything, a book and a film is a finite thing and there comes a time where nothing is left that hasn't been said, and explained and pulled apart before.
For me the blood has been fully wrung from the stone and it's dry. Not so much an end but just moving on and enriched by the whole experience that LTROI has been for me. And for that I truly thank and love all of you.
Knowing when to let go.
When it's over and time to go to the next thing.
The next thing?
Things come suitable to the time, Velvet.
Enjoy each thing,
forget it and go on to the next.
There's a time for everything.
A time for a horse in the Grand National...
...being in love, having children.
Yes, even for dying.
All in proper order at the proper time.
Tuck the coins under your pillow.
Say your prayers and sleep.

Re: Letting go
Well if you are going, I'm certainly sad to see you go. I found there is much more here than just LTROI, but if thats how you feel, I hope you find some place or thing worthy to pass your time. I'm sure we'll see you again. Good luck, and thanks for the book.
Re: Letting go
Sorry to see you go, Ash.
I know the story will stay with you, even if it occupies a smaller part of your life it will always be there. Once infected, always infected.

So long, Ash. I've enjoyed your posts so much.

Re: Letting go
Ditto. I've thoroughly enjoyed your comments from the beginning. You have a knack for keeping us all on our toes. You'll be missed.
(But I suspect you'll be drawn back into the infection eventually. So until then, stay alert. You never know when a small, waif-like girl might knock on your door late some night and give you a good reason to return.)

Re: Letting go
Ash, it's been a pleasure...seven years, now, for me and you're right, there are only so many thoughts that can be thought, and words that can be uttered by our finite minds. But the love will remain, sir!

Re: Letting go
Sorry you have to leave Ash.
You take care and stay away from knife toting pub patrons. ;
(And geez, quoting from National Velvet, I love that movie. . .)

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

Re: Letting go
Ash, be forewarned that you're going to be missed. Might even consider sending a posse after you if it's not ourselves who come to find you and drag you to the nearest watering hole. Until then, be sure to return when you hear a good joke. Same for pokes you might want to share on a good novel or movie. Take care, friend.
There'll always a place for you here.
