There is something unique and asymmetrical about the shape of Lina's mouth.

LTROI at age 12.

SVT at age almost 15.

Watch the vid at SVT 15. The vid is named första gången
Yes I agree. She's just all round adorable and very unique. Her eyes fascinate me too.All through the movie she uses her face, eyes, mouth and hands to convey deep emotional feelings and does it with the minimum of movement. It's incredible.I found this tribute vid.Its got a pic of her holding up that great painting done by a WTI member..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gip3rGnGo4g.I so hope she continues her acting career. It would be a real pity to lose that talent.
Please Oskar.Be me for a little while.

The young woman has established herself as a stage actress at the Royal Dramaten in Stockholm, Sweden's main theater. She's been in two films since LTROI and will probably get more screen time. Oskar has gotten some TV roles, too, but I understand that he's mostly into music. Can somebody help me out here?

Judith Vittet turned 24 in 2008, if my arithmetic is correct. Kind of a shame; I believe the girl could have done a reasonably credible Eli for Hedebrant's Oskar.

Rohan Chand, in the film Mowgli, reminded me a little bit of Eli.

More than a little to me.

I don't know if it's just the hair, but it fits so nicely with the description of the book in one way or another.

Big, expressive dark eyes framed by lots of black, untamed hair.

My take on this is that whatever face you imagined Eli to have when first reading the novel is her real face. If you want to get even more deep, you can say the face JAL imagined when writing it is the true face of Eli. So I guess it's highly personal, like the (only) friend who was never really there...
For me it's more real than most of what's going on

Since I saw the film 3 years before I read the novel, you might say that I see 12-year-old Lina Leandersson as Eli. But there's a problem--Eli looks very different in some of the scenes. And not the more obvious CGI-enhanced images and not the stand-ins. I should watch it again soon and list the looks that appeal to me.
