  • -dark hair, a small face, big eyes
-Shoulder-length black hair. Round face, small nose.
-Her eyes were black, enormous in her pale little face

I'm curious. :>
How would you react if you saw an Eli look-a-like?
Is it rare to see black hair/black eyes/pale skin? *(Who is not asian/does not wear contacts.)

Oh, hello. I am new to the forum.
A few months ago I saw a picture of Lena floating around and instantly fell in love. So, watching the movies was absolute horror, because I didn't know what was going on. Then having recently read the wonderful work of JAL and bought the movie (loved it), I am now, indeed, infected.

Congratulations on your infection, or is it condolences :D ?
Lina will be forever the image of film Eli, but in the novel s/he is described very differently.
The FanArt section has good examples of what novel Eli might look like. Oskar described her as almost un-human looking.
"Her thin arms and legs appeared unnaturally long the way they grew out of her body: a young sapling covered with human skin."
Others - "Everyone who saw him said he was the most beautiful child they had ever seen."
Eli's face in the novel seems almost like an anime character.
If I saw someone like this I'd probably smile at them, look away, then sneak a better look. Isn't that what we all do?

There are a couple of people that fit that discription. We do have a few around here that do resemble Eli.
If I seen somebody that looks like Eli I would run away screaming like a crazy person

If I remember correctly, Hakan (in the book) described Eli as having "Samuel Beckett's eyes in Audrey Hepburn's face". Someone (can't remember who now) actually put a picture on this website showing how that would look. I believe it's in the Fan Art section if you want to look it up. It's a "killer" depiction, if you get my drift.
