What is this?

What is this?
I was shopping for a copy of the novel and I ran into this:
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Let-th ... ght+one+in
I googled it and also found it here:
http://www.bookdepository.com/book/9781 ... ght-One-in
I haven't had any luck finding anything else about it. It looks like the publisher, Auteur, puts out study books on film. I couldn't find anything about it on Auteur's website.
Edit: I just noticed at bookdepository.com the book is categorized as a film guide. Maybe this thread should be in the film section.

Re: What is this?
Hello, Hume...
The woman who wrote this book, "Let the Right One In," whose name is Anne Billson, also wrote a book examining the effect that "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" had on pop culture. This book won't be published until end of October/early November of this year, but I'm guessing that this book will similarly examine the worldwide appeal of either the book LTROI or film or both. That's what I'm getting from these websites, anyway.

Very, very interesting...

Unless she is a regular here, I question her qualifications.
I wonder if johnajvide knows anything about it?

If she didn't get permission to use actual stills from the film, I'll wager this was not written in cooperation with any of the film's principals. Or perhaps it is actually a discussion of the novel?20 b&w illustrations

Now I definitely question her qualifications.the premier independent publisher of teaching resources for Film and Media Studies in the UK.
...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.

The bookdepository site makes me think it'll be more oriented towards the film. Has anyone read the Buffy book? It looks like the author also wrote a vampire novel of her own (the title is enough for me

And here is the article she wrote about LTROI (film) in the Guardian one and a half year ago. I think there is hope after all.

Billson actually says very little about LTROI, but the quote above caught my eye because she suggests that there was a time in Eli's past when she lived rather well. An interesting notion that I hadn't seen much of before. Is this idea consistent with JAL's novel description of Eli as a person who sleeps half her life away in extended periods of hibernation? But it could explain how she acquired her fabulous egg puzzle . . . perhaps given to her by a wealthy benefactor sometime in the past, motivated by who knows what? Hmm . . .Let the Right One In's Eli, on the other hand, contents herself with a bog-standard flat on a Swedish housing estate, where her interest in decor stops at customising the bathroom so it's light-tight. Since she has a Fabergé nest-egg at her disposal, it would seem this is not so much a lifestyle decision based on financial expediency, more a consequence of having lived so long.

Re: What is this?
I found she also wrote a film guide on The Thing, the John Carpenter remake. Readers here criticize both books for mostly being a play-by-play account of the film.N.R. Gasan wrote:Anne Billson also wrote a book examining the effect that "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" had on pop culture.
Still no cover image, as far as I know.
