Im really in awe when i think about the fact that most - or all of the locations and things described in the book exist :D
It makes it almost 'comforting' that at least a part of this story is a part of reality.

About the way how I picture Eli and Oskar in the comicstrips - It is indeed exactly how I see them both in my mind when I read the book.
The colors, the angles and how they look like. Its not always easy to give 'flesh' to your imagination and I must say that i knew the Kåre Hedebrant and Lina Leanderson Versions first. So I prefer to imagine them as a mix of how i know them from the movie and how I see them when i'm reading. And so for example I rather tend to see a slim Oskar instead a chubby one. It might have been round the other way if i knew the book first.

At this oportunity I want to tell you people that I am very moved that you like my drawings so much and that you help to realize them by helping me with the english text or discuss or criticize them when something does not fit. Let the right on in gave and still gives me a lot - I think in this way I can give back a little of it by sharing this with you. This means a lot.

Anything leaning over the book side of LTROI I love, I think because sooo many have done the movie side of it, with fan art and everything. Even though I saw the movie first and both Lina and Kåre were beautiful kids, a chubby manye not so pretty Oskar and an dolly like fatty haired Eli seems to hit more at home for me. Inperfection creates a more realistic image. Not that I wanted Kåre to be a fat kid, haha
By now no matter what Domenic draws I'll just let it come. :D

Ha! :D It's fun to see Eli freaked out by Oskar's touch! For once, the little monster doesn't know how to act. Hee hee!

Dominic, this is an enthralling, mesmerizing sequence.

Wow. :o
Pretty impressive. I like the sequence of how Eli's eyes change.

Yes. The playground is somewhat fragmented, consiting og (iirc) a jungle gym in a sand box, the swings, and some kind of a pavilion.

Here's the jungle gym. Notice how different it is from the film version:

Winter pictures: The view from the jungle gym when Eli walks away towards his entrance (the left door):

.and the swings, for good measure

Oh yes, this looks different indeed. Thank you.

Hmm.. Basically I planned to end this scene with the moment when Oskar offers the Cube which would have fitted in two pages. But I think I want to extend it to four pages which I can finish with a larger picture of the playground then.
