I bought a Bamboo Touchpad for 50€ which includes a Pen. Its a little difficult at first to use this because you have to learn to draw in a completely new way. But when you get used to it it works really fine. In addition to that i just use a very old version of Photoshop (CS2)

I also have a touchpad and a pen, and I totally get what you mean. But alright, photoshop.. Hmm I got used to sketchbook pro so well haha, I'll test it out. Haven't done photoshop in years.

But about the playground.. I remember making a drawing of Oskar and Eli on it, from a bit far away, and I carefully decided where the swings, the sandbox and the jungle-gum were placed.

When Oskar and Eli met for the second time they sat down on the sandbox, and then Eli smelled so much Oskar went a head and sat down on the swings, or was it the poseite. I just made sure that the sandbox and the swings were turned to each other. Amd the jungle-gym to be behind the threes, so that if Oskar stood facing the three the other way around he would see a refection of Eli in his knife. There were also two threes, placed as if they were football goals. And the winter had not struck yet, so were were probably leafs everywhere. Wekk, littel things like that I guess is worth to think about. I sure did, haha

Oh this is fine. I also like how carefully you arrange the things on the playground!

The last frame of the comic is amazingly comedic. Al poor Oskar managed to do in order to change the subject was to pull his cube in frond of Eli's face haha, poor thing.

It's so fun to see the novel text brought to life with images like this...it'd be awesome if JAL would authorize the entire novel in comic book form!

The pictures are really beautiful, but unfortunately they don't tell the story very well. You have needed to add text to help.
I therefore suggest that you turn the perspective of picture 9 - 11 around 180 degrees, so that Eli is drawn from behind and instead Oskar's face is visible. You could increase the distance a little, thereby allowing to show how Oskar slowly raises his hand. Since Eli's face is thus hidden, you'll avoid the problem you presently have of making it believable that Oskar doesn't see Eli's rather aggressive face.

But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist
