I never had a portable console; for some reason I didn't like these tiny machines, I preferred the
PlayStation 1 or 2 8-)
However, the GameBoy was very popular among kids around me.

A ball is always a popular toy, anywhere. Children love them. Do you think Eli would have liked to have one...?

Just a boring 'ol ball? I don't know about that...I think if Oskar had a ball that night instead of the Rubik's Cube, it would have been a very short book....Very short. 8-)

You say you don't like balls? How is that? Everyone likes balls! :P
The worst thing for Oskar and Eli would have been having to play with all that snow around ;)

I have nothing against those things. I just think E would have wanted to play with something a bit more mentally stimulating....She strikes me as a brainy type. Sure, a rubber ball would kept her attention for a minute or two...and then what? It would have been "Bye bye Oskar!"... :)

Maybe something like this?

Eli: Meh... I think I'll go back home now.
Eli: On second thought... I'm very hungry... and you look tasty...

Super Mario World; I'm sure Eli would've loved playing and finding all the little secrets in this game. The Legend of Zelda also. In the book Eli enjoys pretending to fight with swords, I'm sure he would've loved to play this game.

I also used to love playing Mortal Kombat II and Killer Instinct that that time, but those game would've probably hit a little too close to home for Eli.
