Some Irish dude reviewed the book

Post by intrige » Wed Apr 17, 2019 2:31 am

.. And he is funny. Not many can pull off being funny while talking about LTROI.
I linked him here 'cause he said he wanted to talk about LTROI. Let's hope he shows up :)

Also this past week I have thought about LTROI a lot, even re-read some of my old fan-fictons. (which are, I mean, not that bad) I'm still here y'all :D

You're right, Trige; an excellent review. He quickly gets to the heart of the story, gives credit where credit is due (understanding how hard it is to create a sympathetic character in Håkan) and finally lets us in on the book's secret without giving anything away: It's humanity in the face of so much inhumanity.

(And I absolutely love his accent. :D )
We never stop reading, although every book comes to an end, just as we never stop living, although death is certain. (Roberto Bolaño)

Irish accent? Try the 1991 film "The Commitments" about a Dublin soul band. Or just see it for the music. One of my favs.
