A reporter called me yesterday. That was the first time I heard about this project.

So my suspicions were quite wellfounded. :(

Not good at all. They should seek out and welcome your input. For me, the one thing that made the original movie so special was the emotional effect so brilliantly created by Tomas Alfredson. I'd like to be optimistic about this but I can see where this easily would be missing from the series.

I hope I'm wrong. :(

Too bad they did not seek JAL's input, and because of it I dread to see what this series could mutate into.

Links to a couple of postings JAL made on this forum in connection to the comic book debacle:

About the comic book spinoff

Comic book - The sequel

I guess this new development is a continuation of that unfortunate contract...

But it's got a federal marshal. A MARSHAL, guys, come on...

Well, since they optioned LMI, technically they're effing up that, so really that's like at least two turds removed from the flower garden. Right?

Okay! Next up: John Ajvide Lindqvist's "Haunted Vampire Abortion Prison" on Destination America.

I donno what to think of this honestly. It can be good, and it can be a teen drama, but they are remaking a zombie movie too. They might thake this seriously. I just.. I don't know.
Let's just hope that whatever it is, the people who loves it comes here and finds out what it really is.

I just heard about this today. I already had my concerns, and hearing that the author of the source material himself hadn't heard about it furthers my concerns.

Also, I'm not a fan of Bates Motel (Farmiga and Highmore are great, but the writing is awful), so I've not got high hopes for it. Especially because I'm pretty sure they're gonna do the "Oh, Eli/Abby/whatever they decide to name the vampire is just manipulating Oskar/Owen/whatever for her own purposes!" thing that Let Me In did, and I hate that.

I'm sincerely optimistic about it.
I do not understand why criticize them both. if it is good or not, at least we have productions interested in the work.
if you are not good yet there will be other opportunities for other producers do a better job.

Yyaaayyy! Siv! A calm voice of reason. Where have you been, and what have you been doing to them? Everybody here is nuts. I've been saying all kinds of crazy stuff.
