M A Johnson wrote:The show is very episodic; scenes flash past in just a few minutes. At first, it was a bit discomfiting, the rapidity of the scenes, but as the show progressed, it worked as a wonderful short-hand for the fractured lives of Oskar and Eli. With each scene entailing a change of props, the cast worked silently and swiftly on a near dark stage that added to the tension.

Has there been before, at any point, an outdoor performance? Is this the first?
Re: LTROI - Washington DC area, Oct 2018
I've written to them and am very curious to see if there's a reply!

I have learned the Hard Bargain Players have pictures posted on their FB https://www.facebook.com/HardBargainPlayers

Seeiing the photo, it makes great sense to have it in a woodsy setting.

Re: LTROI - Washington DC area, Oct 2018
I have been in communication with Mr. Margelos, the play's director. He has written, saying he and some of the others might be willing and able to answer questions. This would be wonderful! I might just overrun his time with all I have in mind (I will try not to), but thought I'd ask whether others of us have any questions that you might like to ask.
This presentation of LTROI, as of the moment when I am writing this, has two next week. Then they are done. They've had four so far, to my understanding. If you have any questions you would like to pose to anyone on their team about their presentation of LTROI, reply here. They sound very receptive and, well, I'm so very curious to what they might reveal about our putting on this play!

Re: LTROI - Washington DC area, Oct 2018
My curiosity, to start with, centers on what it took for Hard Bargain Players to adapt the play so they could present it. They run their plays in an outdoor setting. A *lot* goes on at this beautiful site (really good example), the Alice Ferguson Foundation's farm. Hard Bargain Amphitheater is but one piece of this. While the outdoor setting, especially at night!, likely makes for a terrific atmosphere from the pictures I have seen, it looks fairly compact. I am curious about how easy it is to work scenes and sets. (And of course I want to get there and see this staging of the play!)
