Tell me about it. I've turned on a number of people to LTROI, starting months before I joined the forum. Mostly they said they liked it (but not all). Can't say that any are infected.

It's a long way to go for me, too, but I'm putting a plan in place anyway. Still plenty of time before I flip a coin and, if it comes up heads, starting to spend money.

A lot of ifs for both of us, I'd say. But about going to New York alone, maybe we could coordinate. Same hotel on the same day, then travel to and from the venue together. You have even more ifs, but right now my major remaining if is the weather.

New York is positively balmy that time of the year,(compared to Sweden or Norway)

Another "if" is the train schedule. Amtrak tends to be late; one time I was 10 or so minutes from my train station and somehow we got stuck. We were there so long that the conductor was talking about us ordering pizza. :P

abner_mohl and I are making plans to see the play in February. After holiday plane tickets should be a bit cheaper plus wintry weather will be very apropos. We have not exactly zeroed in on the date, but I'm sure it will be between 1st and 15th of February.
If any of the We, The Infected members happen to be in that area in that month and want to join for what clearly going to be a remarkable event, please watch this space for further details. There's plenty of time left before show's premiere(January 20th) so start making plans. Tickets to the general public will go on sale November 12.

Ha ha! The calendars seem to be reversed.

Since Jan/Feb airline tickets are cheap now, the sooner you two pick a date and show time would be better for me.

Indeed. I will be there. I'll buy my ticket tonight and then begin securing passage and lodging (one night). I'll PM you, but meanwhile, do you know of a hotel near the venue? I'm concerned about getting back to a hotel near JFK after the performance (and hopefully after we take time for coffee and fellowship). :)

Done and done quick. The near-stage seating for 7:00 PM 2/08 is gone. I got row A seat 112. There were 3 available when I clicked (seat 108) but it was gone by the time I clicked "place order." Jeez. I grabbed 112 and got it. :whew:

Now to find out where I'll stay and so forth. Worst case, spend the night on my mother-in-law's couch in the city. Second worst case, spend the rest of the night using public trans to get to JFK and then stay awake until departure time. Reminds me of when I was down to my last few Yen and planned to sit up all night to take the cable train to Lake Hakone. A Japanese man took me to his house instead, but when you travel, you do what you have to. I rowed on the beautiful lake the next day, rested and with my faith in humanity restored. I love to travel alone. No companions to piss and moan about sitting in a freezing, open-air, high-altitude station all night.
