Drama, thriller, lust.

Has all of the base requirements!

I'd have asked Kare and Lina to play the leads.

They're too old to play the lead roles, some new people should be given the chance.

Although it looks to me like the person playing Eli is quite a bit older that Lina even now.

I did wonder about that.

With a female playing Oskar, this could be a freaky version. If they're going to use adults (which the two leads do look like), I think this version is definitely going to be "R" rated, and perhaps borderline "X". When you read words like "unbridled lust", we could be talking about something that would not qualify as a bedtime story.

In any case, should any of our Nordic friends see this, we would certainly like to hear your impressions. Also, did JAL give his approval (which I think is probable)?

Eli (Bahar Pars) is 31 years old, Oskar (Elisabeth Wernesjö) is 27. The newspaper said the director himself had adapted the play from the book.

Interesting. This would be an interesting thing to see. Just a guess, but I think this will be very different from the original story. And perhaps more than a little controversial. It all depends on what they leave in and/or leave out.

I gotta shake my head in confusion at this one. The writer(s) of this play must have done some serious "adapting" for Eli and Oskar to be played by adults. I mean, are they actually supposed to be 12 in the story? And what's with casting a female to play Oskar, regardless of what age he's supposed to be? I'm not saying it couldn't work, but... ::shrug::
