Himmelstrand Release

As already noted in posts by Nightrider and metoo, JAL's newest novel, Himmelstrand, has been released in Sweden. Although the notice is very short, the folks at Ordfront (JAL's publisher) asked if I could pass along the news that there will be a release party on September 16 at Södra Teatern. Any fans in or Stockholm should not pass this up. (I wish I could go. :( )

Other news from Ordfront: The English translation of Himmelstrand is already underway and the English release will probably be in a couple of months! :!:
...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.

Absolutely not. I intend to get a UK edition which will be available to US readers through numerous outlets on interwebs.

I generally prefer to read books from the library first and I usually don't import from outside the US unless it's something like the UK Blu-ray where the commentary is only available on that disc.
