Good!

Then we might start discussing it in about a week, or so?

Yep.

I have difficulties to pause reading a piece of fiction once started, so I generally read everything from start to end in one go. This time I did sleep a few hours in the middle, though. I didn't get the novel until late afternoon, and my waking hours ended before the novel. ;-)
I'm also on vacation, so...

Yes, well, I generally find it difficult to make judgements about (fiction) books. I guess I'm rather highly suggestible, so if the story isn't exceptionally bad or annoying, I submerge into the story and stay there until I emerge at the other end. Others may have different standards.

That said, the novel is about ten people, a dog and a cat. That is, there are many different action threads going on. I have no problem with this, but others may find it distracting.

One might say that one theme of this book is this: If you only know people's history well enough, you might be able to understand them. You still don't need to like them, though.

But not everything in this novel is explained. The reader is left with unresolved questions.
