I thought that it might be a good idea to keep all of the reviews of this film by members in one thread. What follows is my review, there are no spoilers in it.

I'll be honest this isn't my most eagerly awaited film of the year, but I was interested to see if Thomas Alfredson could maintain his high standards. The short answer is yes he can, he has a good eye for period detail , the overall pace feels leisurely and all the cast are excellent.

I should also admit that I'm not a huge fan of spy stories, although this is as much a 'who done it' as you average Agatha Christie story. While people get shot, there are no chases and the overall atmosphere is more like "The Thing" than a James Bond or Bourne film. Consequently this could come across as too 'talky' , credit to the script writers and the director for avoiding this. A scene at an airfield is Thomas Alfredson at his best using a long shot and letting the background add to the tension that is building up in the foreground. I thought that there was one unnecessary ultra close-up of Gary Oldham that I could have done without, but apart from that I couldn't criticise anything. Hoyte's lighting was moody when needed and the score from Alberto Iglesias was unobtrusive adding rather than detracting to the overall atmosphere of the film. My favourite scene was a flashback to an office Christmas party, one of the few lighter moments in the film.

So was it as good as LTROI? The short answer is IMO no it wasn't, I didn't feel an emotional connection to any of the characters which left me feeling a bit distant to what was unfolding on the screen. But I will say that the cinema was nearly full when I went to see it and I predict that this will be much more succesful and I expect it to pick up a lot of awards next year.

How was the reaction of the audience in the cinema during the film? Were they into it? Did it seem like everyone had a good time?
This is one of the few films that I'm eagerly waiting for.The cast is just amazing...and I did not expect any comparisons with LTROI. Tinker ,Tailor...is a different film, based on a different book. Alfredson appears to be a good enough director to make an interesting big screen version of that novel. I was a big fan of original BBC prodution and that one was REAL talky.
In your opinion, does it look like it will be hugely successful movie or just so-so?

The audience were quiet and subdued during and after the film and appeared to be 20's and over, which is pretty much normal for a film like this one. The biggest film here this summer (not counting the last Harry Potter) is 'The Inbetweeners Movie' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1716772/ with a target audience in the teens, which I haven't seen. Personally I don't think that this will be a huge hit, certainly not as big as last years 'The Kings Speech', but it will definitely be seen by more people than LTROI here in UK.

There are a few reviews now appearing on IMDB, be careful because there's at least one with a spoiler in it. It's worth noting that there are a number of negative ones and I have to say that in general they do make valid points.

Yes, it's certainly not a "Bourne Identity" type of film. I do think it will be a moderate hit...nothing crazy like "Harry Potter".
I guess the only thing one can ask for is for this film to find it's target audience.
So we'll see what happens in December when TTSS opens in US.

I just got home after watching the Swedish premiere of it, Tomas Alfredson was there which was nice. :)
But about the movie, it was excellent exept for one thing, the story. I only got hooked a few times when I watched it and the ending was a little bit confusing, probably since I have not read the book. But I give it a weak 4/5. Its def worth watching.

How was Gary Oldman. I know he's a fantastic actor, but how was he in this film?

He was fantastic, It's hard to say who was the best actor in the movie because all of them were so good.
