(Why so tall?)

Although, since some of the other images on the site are obviously 'Shopped, I wonder if this on is, too. If this is an actual frame from the film, and there are more like it, I'd have to say that Tomas and Hoyte have really out-done themselves. The hand holding the cigarette is lit believably by the light fixture, but the face is completely dark but seen in profile against the lighter background. The glasses are the defining visual characteristic of Gary Oldman's character, and while you can't see them, their presence is betrayed by the reflection... just excellent.

People are talking about Oscar potential for all of the star power in front of the camera, but perhaps at least a nomination for Hoyte if he gives us a parade of images like this one.
...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.
