In one scene Lacke complains that someone must have used faulty rulers or something when constructing the council estates they live in, that the angles of the houses aren't right. A short story by JAL reveals that this is caused by a monster.

I haven't read the short story collection so I'm curious what this is referring to.

It's from the short story 'By på Höjden', and it I think it is referring to the high rise building Oskar is passing on his way to save Eli. It's close to the pool house.

That's 'Village on the hill' / 'By på Höjden'.
