Sweden DVD

Post by ricky989 » Wed Sep 14, 2016 10:09 am

Unsure if this has been posted anywhere, as every time I searched the forum my searches were too broad. So apologies if this has been spoken about.

I'm working on my blu-ray and DVD collection of the film, and my sister just travelled to Sweden, so I asked her to pick up a DVD copy for me. Apparently you cannot buy the film anywhere in Sweden, and it has "been deleted." Does anybody know what this means? And why?

The DVD seems to be available in this package:
https://www.ginza.se/product/svenska-fi ... er/333996/

It is also available here in blu-ray:

But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist

And if all that fails, why not try eBay or Amazon.
Swedish LTROI discs show up there all the time.

I'm assuming you want the actual DVD hard copy rather than just the Swedish version of the film.
So this probably won't help.
But a few days ago someone uploaded a version of the film (with English subtitles) to Youtube that you can download in DVD quality You probably don't want the hard-coded subtitles though.
That aside, the subtitles are different (better?) to the Swedish version subtitles. While Hakan is preparing his kit you hear a translation of the radio in the background etc.
In fact there's quite a difference between the versions. Here's an example of the different subtitle translations, and in one version, there's no translation of what Oskar hears through his wall.
Here's the Youtube one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-E35l3kVCW0
Sorry, I got way off topic as usual.
