Steelbook Preorder
Hi!
Has anybody ordered one of these? http://kimchidvd.com/en/good/good_event.jsp?lidx=60 If which one did you choose? Just found out that preorder started today and secured one of the Fullslip versions. Did cost me $45.80 inclduding shipping to Austria. Normally I don't buy such expensive Blu-Ray's but it's one of my most favourite movies so I don't care!

They look nice, but no. I spent all my money on hardcover first addition and signed copies of the book, so I can't judge.

What does Lenticular Type A mean?
We never stop reading, although every book comes to an end, just as we never stop living, although death is certain. (Roberto Bolaño)

Two different images on one surface. The images can be viewed by slightly tilting the surface.PeteMork wrote:What does Lenticular Type A mean?

Thanks! Do you know if Type A is different than Type B? Or is it just their way of differentiating the two different sets of pictures?Nightrider wrote:Two different images on one surface. The images can be viewed by slightly tilting the surface.PeteMork wrote:What does Lenticular Type A mean?

Hi, Black Sheep and all. Can't wait to hear what's on the discs and what's different about the several offerings! I have the Blu-Ray (Swedish with English subs, plus interview, plus a few outtakes.)Black Sheep wrote:Hi!

Korean subtitles will most likely be the major difference.dongregg wrote:Hi, Black Sheep and all. Can't wait to hear what's on the discs and what's different about the several offerings! I have the Blu-Ray (Swedish with English subs, plus interview, plus a few outtakes.)Black Sheep wrote:Hi!

Duh, Pete, like I didn't live in Korea for 16 months. And the Korean alphabet is phonetic, so I can sound out the words even though my vocabulary is sub-useful. I delighted the dear professional ladies by "reading" Korean newspapers out loud, an especially good parlor trick at those times when I was too broke to do more than sit in the house parlor with them while they waited for less impecunious visitors.Korean subtitles will most likely be the major difference.

Re: Steelbook Preorder
Will probably get one. Looks great. Thanks for the heads up.
It also apparently comes with an additional commentary from some Korean directors I think. One is Kim Jong Chul a film editor and the other is Im Pil-Seong, who directed 'Hansel & Gretel' a very good Korean horror film. IDK why they were picked but I know some releases have 'guest commentaries' from critics so maybe it's like that. (That being said it's likely this commentary won't have subtitles based on past experience with Asian releases.)
EDIT: Decided to pick Option 'B'. I would have liked the Eli cover but the lenticular animation with the bloodless Eli just doesn't look good. Looks way too smooth, like they used photoshop to blur away the blood and it gives the impression she has no eyelids.

There are three different editions, each one with a different cardboard slipcover. The steelbook and the contents are the same for all three however.PeteMork wrote: Thanks! Do you know if Type A is different than Type B? Or is it just their way of differentiating the two different sets of pictures?
