Reinfection

"A second infection that follows recovery from a previous infection by the same causative agent."

I'll have to admit I've intentionally not watched LTROI for several months, last year actually, and the infection had worn off to a large degree. So I sat down this morning (I'm on holidays) and watched it through again.
Not one for doing things by half-measures, I used headphones and the BluRay in a dark room.
Well, baby..... I'm back (again). What an incredibly powerful and poetic film, and fine actors, and everything. It's nice to be diseased again and understand why it blew my brain in the first place.
All I need now is for this forum to kick back into life - very slow round here these days.

Yeah I know! Not like it was from 2010 to 2011!! Maan, those were the days!!
I am still infected, but not as I was when I started. Maybe I also should watch the movie again

Chronic:

"A chronic condition is a human health condition or disease that is persistent or otherwise long-lasting in its effects. The term chronic is usually applied when the course of the disease lasts for more than three months."

i thought that sounds like a good plan for this evening but then i realized i have to find time between hanging up the new LTROI Poster, drawing fanart, bringing my reread further and spending time on the forum

Yeah, I qualify for the chronic label, and with a new level of infection from my Blu-ray.

@Ash, thanks for starting up this thread. I see that things are quiet on the forum, but I also see that the posts reflect thoughts that have continued to deepen and to mature.

I don't know how the book and film remained hidden in plain sight for so many years. I have been a fan of vampire tales on page and film since I first saw Bela Lugosi as Dracula in 1957. No matter how it happened, I did not open this coffin lid until about a month ago. And since then I've been hardly able to think of anything since. I was introduced via the film... a movie that is everything a movie should be. After watching it three times I sought out the book. And then I found this discussion group. I haven't read all the past posts, but I'm working on them. And today I started to reread the novel. Even after just two chapters I realize there is so much I missed the first time.

Welcome home Jim Nolt! Your story sounds painfully familiar. This website is a huge repository of all things LTROI...and more.
Enjoy! :)
