The European Film Awards is the European equivalent to the Academy Awards (The Oscars), it's the most prestigious of all European movie awards.

I am guessing Let The Right One In will probably take home the People's Choice Award, but if it wins Best European Film over strong competitors like A Prophet and The White Ribbon, then that will be the highest honor for the film to receive so far.

I've not seen any of those movies other than LTROI. But Slumdog Millionaire has been the most hyped, so I would guess it will come out on top.

I notice that the UK has 3 entries, as opposed to the Academy Awards which allows only 1 entry per country. Hmmm...maybe the folks in Hollywood should, like, take notice and perhaps revamp their rules? ;) (And, yes, I chose that word carefully...revamp..."vampire movie"...pun...bad joke...really bad...feel free to groan.) LOL
