Sigh. Incredible, isn't it? How could Johan's score possibly only be the second best? Since I first began to appreciate his score, I have been paying a lot more attention to the scores in other films. I have come to see that both the score's composition and its use in LTROI are unique displays of creativity melded to purpose.
...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.

Very few scores tell a story almost as vivid and rich as the movie itself...Johan Soderqvist's music for LTROI is one of those scores. This CD is a treasure of my audio collection.....

Just the other day I was on youtube and I clicked on some LTROI thing and they were playing that guitar music when Oskar was on the bus going to his Dads. I didnt know that this video was going to play any music from LTROI but as soon as it started I had to turn it off for some reason. It kind of overwhelmed me. It was a mix of melancholy and beauty that I wasnt prepared for. I think I just wanted Mccomfort web surfing and this music went ZAP and I couldnt reach for the mute button fast enough. I thought "that was wierd".

I know how you feel. I get exactly the same reaction from just hearing the beginning of one of the pieces. It instantly takes you to that particular part of the film and makes you relive all the emotions you felt the first time you saw the movie....

LTROI's score is number 1 in my book. Like Nightrider stated, the score tells Oskar and Eli's story perfectly and has the unique ability to bring me down or lift me up, depending on my mood. That score really is powerful stuff.

Good for Johan. I'm glad that he's getting much-deserved recognition.

Well deserved accolade for an incredible score produced by a talented guy who very nicely responded to my complimentary email.

I've never been as moved by a movie score as I have with this one. To call it a 'masterpiece' seems an understatement.
