Spreading the Infection

This is a question inspired by the "No One Knows" thread in the LTROI Novel section by Ash...and forgive me if this has been asked before, I did try the search bar but couldn't see anything that came close to the question being asked
Has anyone actually managed to Spread the Infection to Friends, Relatives, Loved Ones etc?
About two years ago when the film came out, I was very vocal about this film to pretty much all my friends...I think I nagged them excessively to check it out. I did manage to get my friends to see the movie (and got one of them to read the book before seeing the movie)
This was their reactions retrospectively
Ryan = Dug it, but wasn't overly impressed by it
Erin "Storm" (nickname) = Liked it, but don't think was overly infected by it
Brad = Surprisingly Liked It (he's basically my friend who really isn't into horror at all)
Cass (the one who also read the book) = Loved the Book, was slightly annoyed by some of the changes in the film, but overall still liked the film very much
Ben = Very much loved it, but loved it more so for the tragic implication of the love story (he's on the side of Eli is using Oskar)
Whilst I haven't been able to get them infected, I did manage to get them to at least see the film...but the thought occured, am I the only one who has nagged this movie to most people he knows?
Has anyone else managed to spread the infection?

Hi! I may say - your situation is rather common. When I got absolutely crazy of it, till the status of impossibility of sleeping

, I thought something like "How this film may be not liked?". So, I imposed on watching this movie to my friends

They sad (four of them):
1. Not bad, it's possible to watch one time.
2, 3 - indifferent
4. (My best friend) - Still trying to wach.

He says: "I'm starting third time, but each time falling asleep. I'm trying hard, really!"
So, I think, this infection is a seldom thing. As that guy in the joke:
Instructions in an airplane:
- If the aircraft suffers a catastrophe in the ocean, you have the vests and whistles.
- Why the whistles?
- To scare away the sharks.
- I don't need it. With my good fortune - or whistle won't whistle or a shark will fall deaf ...

Tried about twelve times and struck out every time. Only one finished it and he wasn't impressed.

Welll amon all of us that I know of, only tow have maniged to infect someone. Me and gk, well. I have to admit, MicaMe didn't really got infected. Only very hooked for a while. So the credit goes to gk.
Well it is about the person you share your infection with. They would have to be opeminded, pasient and liking either love or .. gore-ish artfeel to like this. Belive me, I know the chanses, and almost couldn't belive my own ears when Mica told me she was hooked, started drawing and barrowed the novel at our school library. I had honestly given up sprwading the infection, rather share something I loved with my friends. So we could talk about it for a while. People have different views, so it's always interesting to see what they think.
The best I could go with is that if a person you know of have some of the.. thought you have on thinks like lovestories, scary stuff and art. You might get lucky, but as always I have no garantee. Just think about how many infected there are out of those people who have seen the movie or read the book, how many we are here. And we are almost global.. Not many of us, so to infect someone is very. Rare. Give it up for gk

(I am not sure if the one he infected want me to write who that person is here, and therefore, I don't.)

Ben = Very much loved it, but loved it more so for the tragic implication of the love story.
That is also very close to how I view my infection. Everything else that goes on is secondary to that theme IMO.
Perhaps Ben is infected, maybe more a sniffle than a chronic hopeless case like me.

I have shared the book and both movies with a few of my co-workers and have showed both movies to my parents.
None of them got infected as far as I can tell.
Does this upset me? Not at all.
Why not? Because being infected just makes me a little bit better than all of them.

(Naaaah, just kidding)

While reading histories of infection I found (I think not I am only) a key point in all those, including my own history.
Somebody may watch the film and get one of three possible results:
1. Like
2. Non like.
3. Indifferent.
We do not consider 2 and 3. Let’s look closer on first. Here are two options:
1. It’s possible to watch LTROI, enjoy it and forget about the next day.
2. In a time after watching appears desire to watch it one more time.
THIS IT. At this point, with a probability of 99% we can say that the trap had shut.

Another possibility:
you tell them to watch the movie, and nothing more. You don't tell them about infection, or one's potential urge to watch it again and again.
so they watch the movie, and respond in a way that is socially acceptable. "Yes, I liked it a lot. Thank you."
When they get home, by themselves, they find they have a strange urge to watch the movie, and order it online or whatever and start watching it again and again.
They see you again, still not knowing about the infection, or that you are infected, and may be reluctant to tell you about this new obsessions of theirs that they fear may seem a little odd to you.
It is easy to meet other infected here, as people may be more open about it behind a screen, willing to announce that they watch the movie repeatedly and have a profound attachment with some of the characters. Perhaps a bit more difficult of an admission face to face, especially to a friend who may or may not understand, and may or may not think you might have an "issue". I mean, how many people have you rushed out and told "Hey, i watch this movie three times a day!"
my suggestion: direct them to this forum.
(if you don't mind them reading all of your posts)

All the people I know who I've shown, or have seen the movie liked it, but only one friend REALLY liked it, and even she is not anything like as rabidly infected as, umm, any of us. I just lent the book [and will bring the movie] to another friend, perhaps she will Get It Bad...

I dunno how much credit I deserve. Probably none. It was just dumb luck. I wasn't even trying. All I did was talk too much about the movie and, well, it happened.

Meanwhile those who I have hoped would become at least Interested ... all either watch it and say "ho humm" or else (politely) never get around to watching it.

Pretty much my view & experience too, except that it does upset me a bit.
I've learned not to mention the word "vampire" when hoping to get somebody to watch it. For the people I know that word seems to be a turn-off. The result I get is on the lines of "Oh, it's not Halloween, I don't want to watch stuff like that."
