Wow.. this never happens.

Seriously, I cannot for the life of me get this film out of my head. Almost everything about this story is just beautiful. I have watched plenty of films in the past being a huge movie buff but this is the first time I've actually felt the need to go online and visit sites to crank out as much information as I could about it and that's saying something. I found this site by visiting the IMDB boards looking for a place that just discussed topics about this movie and I'm glad I found this site. I've been visiting for about a week now, almost everyday. Most other days I try to forget about it but I just can't. I recently had the chance to catch the remake in theaters which was pretty good in my opinion, but didn't move me as much as the original. There's just something haunting about it, every expression the two lead characters make, the dark gloomy mood the film gives off and of course the epic score that is used, my personal favorite being the ending theme "let the right one in" which I'm sure most of you consider being your favorite as well. I always love going back and listening to it and even sometimes watching that particular scene in which he is on the train with Eli and you can't help but wonder and care about how it will turn out for them. The feeling just can't be explained. It's a good thing I recently had the chance to watch it again even more now since they're streaming it on Netflix but it's just making this "infection" worse. It's funny me and my girlfriend had the chance to watch this and soon after I told her "I think I just became infected", after discovering this board. She seemed a little confused after of what that meant. :D
It's good to be on board.

Greetings Xpher! :) Glad you found this place.
Seems like you definetly have all of the symptoms of this wonderful Infection. Lucky you! :D

And we are glad to have you here, Xpher; welcome to Team Eli. I've been here for a while, having been Infected for, oh, a couple of years now...more or less. I recognize your symptoms. We all do. So I will save you some time: Buy the DVD. Purchase the soundtrack. Get the book. You will anyway, so you might as well get it over with. You'll be happier for it. :)

Just plain awesome.. and I definitely shall continue to feed my hunger. I've been doing that pretty much for a while now having watched the movie and getting the soundtrack. I can't even imagine how much more engaging it can get after having read the book, which I haven't yet, but I shall be picking it up soon and finding out for myself so thanks. I also do feel it is lucky to be able to recognize aspects of this film that are apparently not visible to everyone. :)

Hey Xpher, welcome.

All of the Infected have probably had the curious experience of other people around them just not 'getting it' - yes, it's a very nice film, but what's for dinner, kind of thing. Pity, really...

I've started to wonder if this is in fact a boy's movie, like, say, 'Twiglets' is a girl's movie

That is just it. All these words typed here and no one can really explain it.

Enjoy your infection!

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.
