Hey gk :) thanks. How are you? Were you already a mod when I stopped coming to the forum? I can't recall :D
I'm not sure either. I do recall that after we all watched LTROI together that I could then 'see' your account on the Microsoft 'Live Instant Messenger' service (which is now defunct) but never poked at you to say HOWDY. That was too long ago now. Sheesh. Anyway, great to see you here.

Interesting how one infection can lead to another. After being bitten by Lindqvist, I developed an intense interest in Sweden in general and the stories from Mari Jungstedt in particular. Her murder mysteries are set on the island of Gotland in the Baltic, not far from Stockholm. I've read five of her Anders Knutas novels to date, and plan to read the others when they become available for my Kindle. And I frequently return to "Let The Right One In" (both book and movie) to enjoy specific passages/scenes. I am still in awe of the performances from Kåre Hedebrant and Lina Leandersson. But sometimes I'm saddened to think that those two individuals no longer exist as we see and remember them on the screen. They are now grown up and very much different from who they were then.

Yes they have grown up, yet it would be very very insightful to be able to chat to them - perhaps here on this forum? - someday about their experience with the movie. I wonder how they look back at that effort, what it meant to them then and now. How often, for instance, do you get to be painted up as a 12 yr old vampire - pale face paint, little vampire teeth inserts, bloody shirt? Not often! So I'm sure Lina remembers it all very well. As I would think Kåre does as well.

I've not ready anything by Mari Jungstedt. Do you have a suggested starting point?

I was not impressed by her first book, Unseen, and turned to other authors and other settings for a time. But because, for myriad reasons, I found myself being drawn back to Sweden, I picked up her second, Unspoken... and then her third, The Inner Circle. After that came Killer's Art and The Dead of Summer. For me, each one is better than the last. And now I'm wondering why I didn't enjoy the first one so much. I'm tempted to go back and re-read it, but that was in my pre-Kindle days, and I gave it away instead of carting it with me on my last move. Each of these stories is independent from the others, but I'm somewhat of a stickler when it comes to reading about a recurring character in that I must start from the beginning.

I also thought about. thats true. I think thats one thing that makes this movie so very special. everything was exactly right at that very short period of time. And everybody involved in making LTROI did such an awesome, outstanding job and managed to make such an outstanding movie
its now, after more then a year, that i still think about this story, often multiple times a day... but i think thats just normal for an infectioin like that :)

Beautiful poem and very true. Who's Jade? I mean, I know she's the author, but is she a well known poet?

Good point. This was first posted by an Australian girl on Pinterest. Jade Krenek. She was 11 or 12 at the time, not a known poet, but more poetic and sensitive than I'll ever be.
She also wrote-

When you look in the mirror and are overwhelmed with feelings of distress.
No one can understand why all the things they love about you are the very things you hate.

Wow, thanks for the info. In one respect I admire her depth, but in another respect I feel bad her mind is (or was) weighed down by these things, especially at such a young age. I sincerely hope she was happy and able to enjoy being a kid.

I did a search on Jade Krenek. I didn't find any more poetry. I found a Youtube video of a young girl making a cool gymnastic move. The poems posted here are very honest. I'm sorry there aren't more.
