I'm sorry, did I say stinkin'?
Yes, I do get sappy, I'll be the first to admit that, but what I won't do is get into a verbal catfight over a difference of opinion to the extent that someone thinks they have to leave the board.

Hagiolatry?! :D
Now I think you are trying to bait me into a verbal catfight! BUT, and that is a big but, you are one of those people I won't catfight with as well. So, in the immortal words of Stan Lee..."Nuff said!"

Perhaps you should be sharpening your pencil. ;)

Alas, I'm an awful writer... I often have ideas that seem interesting, but any attempt to put them into concrete words looks just too awkward. Wouldnt want to shame myself, especially with people like ACL, Sauvin and Pete and all the others here.
And English not being my native language doesn't help either.

Why not let us be the judge of that? :)

Well, to get back on track.

Everyone wants happy and easy solution. The real question is what will you do when there isn't any easy or happy solution. Will you help Eli knowing she has to harm others?
In that case we would have a great problem cause we cannot use capital punishment, we might send her back to the united states to act as an executioner, or send her to a warzone. I would help Eli, mainly because...well...she is Eli ;) . And come on, its not like humanity never kill. I think every human need to slaughter their own pigs to get things in perspective. Death is a natural part of life, everything has to die and everything has to kill to survive. Death might not be the end, just a new beginning  . Maybe it isn't anything to get upset about.

Thanks GOV. You have such an unexpected view on Eli. :-) I will say this with certainty. You love Eli more than I do. I am torned about helping Eli under such circumstances, but you rush in. I respect that.

Everything and everyone has to die. Yes. But I am in no hurry to get there.

How much help can we give Eli in that situation though? Anything more than a day or two's worth of shelter and I would seriously not want to be your neighbor :) But that doesn't change my answer, the severity of Eli's disease doesn't change her human side, unless you compound the problem so much that caring for Eli would be like hiding radioactive waste in your bedroom.

I dunno, I think this discussion has been interesting, but really all the reasons given are just excuses to spend some time with our favorite character. We decided that the chance to meet Eli is something we want, and then work backwards and rationalize it.

Is there anyone who would NOT let Eli in for UNSELFISH reasons? I.e. Cuteness aside, the fact that I'll be providing shelter to something who would go on to kill strangers is enough reason not to do so. (For the sake of argument, protecting your loved ones and liked ones counts as a selfish reason)
