What I didn't get.......sob.

No I hadn't, thank you drakkar!

when I first saw those shots months ago, I smiled too. Its quite something else to see an actor enjoying themselves even if they aren't part of the scenejonjon_z wrote:Btw it's great seeing Lina smiling off camera. She had lots of fun making this movie.
... she looks like a kid who has just been overindulgent with chocolate cake or a messy candy bar...
I could just picture Arnold planting a bloody kiss on Oskar telling him "I'll be back."

Agreed. I was also surprised that they used Lina when Lacke kicked Eli from Virginia. You don't see Eli's face in the scene, so I assumed it was a stunt double, although I remembered thinking that they did a great job finding a physical match for Lina. Later we found out that it actually was Lina in that scene, padded and pulled away with wires. Reportedly the actor playing Lacke had a difficult time with that scene (understandably).Ash wrote:It surprises my that Lina was used in this scene. THAT WAS THE REAL LINA GETTING KICKED?! I always thought that was CGI or a stunt double. I always grimaced at that scene (for Lina not for Virginia) now it'll be worse.gymmy64 wrote:I was also surprised that they used Lina when Lacke kicked Eli from Virginia.
"Can we die?" "Of course we can." Eli put his hand on his heart, felt the slow beats. Maybe it was because he was a child. Maybe that was why he hadn't put an end to it. The pangs of conscience were weaker than his will to live.

Is that information from an interview or a making of clip? I would like to read it/see it.

I know. If you look closely at the scene, you may feel better...she doesn't land that far away (you can still see her in the frame). The next shot makes it appear as if she sailed away like a football.jonjon_z wrote:I always grimaced at that scene (for Lina not for Virginia) now it'll be worse.
The one complaint (really an observation) about Lina that I've heard is that she smiled too much.jonjon_z wrote:Btw it's great seeing Lina smiling off camera. She had lots of fun making this movie.
"'Andreas", a SPFX guy who did some of the CGI on the film, relayed this info; there also may be articles mentioning this, although I would have to search for that. Unfortunately, a lot of the info and stories he shared with us were lost when the IMDB deleted threads from 2008 & 2009.bore wrote:Is that information from an interview or a making of clip? It's in the regular DVD that I have.Ash wrote:Could someone tell me if these captures are from the extras of a BluRay. I have the BR but sadly didn't get any "making of" stuff like this.
It surprises my that Lina was used in this scene. An extra would have done when all you see is a hand.

Damnit. That the price I pay for living on the underside of this planet.
Re: What I didn't get.......sob.
OK, I have thought this over now and I'm OK with it. I can totally understand why they would use Lina for that scene. It would not be harder for her to do it than it would for any stunt double in that age.gymmy64 wrote:Agreed. I was also surprised that they used Lina when Lacke kicked Eli from Virginia. As for Peter Carlberg's difficulties with that scene I don't think it would have been easier for him to kick anyone else.

In addition to some of the comments in foregoing posts, if you'll look at that scene very carefully, you'll see that Lacke gets a good head of steam up, stops and gives Eli more of a push with the bottom of his foot rather than a real kick. I, for one, can't generate much power with that kind of kick, and it's not the kind of kick I'd have used if I'd been a real Lacke kicking a real vampire off my real girlfriend. I'd have used a flat-out drop kick that would probably have imploded several ribs. It looks to me like Carlberg was being really gentle with Leandersson.jonjon_z wrote:THAT WAS THE REAL LINA GETTING KICKED?! I always thought that was CGI or a stunt double.
